The Queen to join Corrie's 50th anniversary?

The Star reports today that The Queen's going to be approached by ITV to appear in the 50th anniversary of Coronation Street. Although it's a long news item with quotes from 'a Corrie source' the last line says it all: ITV declined to comment.

Mind you, she's already been in it before, you know:

And Prince Charles turned up for the 40th anniversary too:

Well, considering the Prince only appeared on screen as part of a "news" broadcast on someone's telly, i could see them doing something similar for the Queen. Or just showing them watching her limo drive past. I'm sure they could arrange for her to visit the set backstage again though. I wonder if she still watches?

A certainly hope HM The Queen will agree to be part of the show! Opening a new Sports Centre perhaps? This is one of the UK greatest TV exports! It would do the country good to see HM on the Street! Long live HM .... and Corrie!
