Is Jake a mistake?

So, what do we make of Jake? I thought the way he was introduced to Coronation Street through Michelle's window with her in the buff was cheesy and rough. But it's early days, he could turn out to be a wonderful Corrie fella, who knows? But he hasn't started off well in our house. And as for Michelle? One minute she's reporting him to the police for harassment and the next she's inviting him in for some of her Mama Connor lovin'. Get a grip, girl.

I thought the scenes with Michelle and the builder in the restaurant one of the most boring, embarrassin ever. What is the point if the actor is only to stay 2 weeks? Another notch on the bedpost of the increasingly sluttish Michelle? I am fed up with the flaunting of her new surgically enhanced chest at every opportunity, especially in front of her sons pals, this just isnt Corrie. Rant over.

Count me in as well -- awkward scenes due to bad writing. Actor seems to know a stupid set of scenarios and did the best he could, but he couldn't save this ridiculous little plotline...

why can't they just have someone whom she met on the road (when she was away singing with the band) turn up at the bar unexpectedly...

Bad actor, bad and unneeded scene/s, bad decision by Corrie.

With great scenes and performances with Tony, Roy and Aunty Pam, Corrie doesn't need this rubbish with Michelle and builder to spoil all the good stuff.

Agree, agree, agree -- bad writing mostly. Actor seems to know bad writing/dialogue -- perhaps did the best he could but in the end, can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear as they say...

I just thought it all came across as unrealistic. I mean when does this ever happen in real life? Never, he was too good to be true/really creepy. He's not bad on the eye but yeah didn't like it. Plus Michelle is getting really easy nowadays isn't she! And with Ben and Ryan next door?!

All the farce of the storyline aside, I kind of like the look of the actor, is anyone else old enough to see the facial resemblance to a young Dirk Bogarde?
I would like to see him stay, but not just as an accessory to Michelle's naked assets.

Ryan had it spot-on... like a scene from a dodgy porno.

Yawn.

shut up shut up shut up all anonymous hidden people - i've been watching corrie for years and thank god they've given me somebody to enjoy - especially as sickly tony drags his confession out - i'm delighted that corrie have brought in an actor who isn't a pop star but someone who's actually an actor - and my god is he good to look at - they'll be lucky to keep him from what i hear!

i do agree that they should have brought him in for longer - 6 episodes is not really enough but he's certainly made a wonderful impression on me!
