This was one scattered episode! Where to begin? Why not where we left off last time? Fiz is getting used to being Mrs. Fiona Stape. She receives a wedding gift from Anna Windass - it's a slow-cooker. She also receives a berating from the "Webster Witches." I could think of another word to call them, but I'll keep that to myself. Fiz tries to talk to the housing council, to see if she can get a house in another neighbourhood to avoid the aggro for when John gets out of the jug. John tells her not to worry, they'll think of something. Meanwhile, Chesney is NOT going to move, and he is NOT going to move in with "that man." Gary Windass offers Chesney a place to stay. I was just waiting for that to happen. Will Chesney stay with the Windasses indefinitely or is it only temporary?
Molly and Kevin plan a clandestine encounter as soon as possible now that Kevin is back from holiday. Kevin confesses to Molly that he's in love with her, and Molly returns the sentiment. Oh, this only gets BETTER.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Tyrone has finished his makeover. Which isn't really much of a makeover, but more of an updated replica of how the living room used to look like! That Tyrone!
Uncle Umed is annoying everyone on the street (and here at home) with this new doorbell "dinger." I used to like him, but he's just plain annoying me at this point. Amber still isn't happy with Dev OR Darryl, and she leaves the street on a bus for Uni with the men in her life chasing after the bus. Both Dev and Darryl find out that it was Teresa who told Amber about their money scheming and now they're both angry with her. Dev reminds Teresa that he's her landlord, and her boss, and he does hold grudges. She need not worry for long though, he's got a bad memory.
Julie and Jesse have a great double-act going now that Julie's taken up the role of Hiyalowa. Eileen couldn't be more jealous when she spies Jesse taking a photo of Julie bent over. So, she tells Jesse that it's her or Julie, so he best sack her. Jesse doesn't want to do this, and Julie doesn't want to stop being Hiyalowa, so they agree (on Julie's insistence) that they tell Eileen what she wants to hear, then they continue on as they were. Who thinks this is all shades of trouble? Jesse looked sick at the thought of lying to Eileen. And rightfully so, as well all know that hell hath no fury like an Eileen scorned.
Finally, Norris and Rita meet in the pub so that Rita can dazzle Norris with the details of her cruise. Norris is more interesting in talking about Sheila, his new shop assistant however. Rita says in another couple of weeks, it'll be like she was never there. That's life, my dear. That's life.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Sophie Webster referring to Chesney as the "ginger" Zac Efron. (Click her to find how who that is)
- Janice consoling Fiz by telling her that the best times in her and Les' marriage was when he was on the inside.
- Gary offering Chesney a place to stop. I love Gary Windass, and I'm probably the only one, but I just don't care!
- Umed suggesting that Amber make up with her father, since his money, if not his love, will get her through University.
- Eileen and Julie using Jesse as a tether ball between them. Never get stuck between sisters!
- Julie asking Jesse if he thinks she could model, and Eileen telling her that she could do that while Eileen dances Swan Lake. I love Eileen's sarcasm.
- The entire scene where Julie pretends to have been sacked by Jesse, and all parties the wiser to what is going on. Poor Jesse! I think he's got a thing for our Julie... sounds like trouble!
LOWLIGHTS:
- Fiz and Janice rolling their eyes at Anna's wedding gift of a slow-cooker. Oh, you roll your eyes now, but wait until you make your first roast in that thing... heaven.
- Sally's uncontrollable rage over Fiz and John getting married. She should take her daughter's advice and just get over it!
- Molly and Kevin professing their love to one another. Barf-o-rama.

Another highlight, the repartee at the Rovers, capped off by Rita's sympathy towards Dev's lost ding.
I like Gary Windass. I like them all actually. I think there's a big story to tell between Anna and Eddie.
Gary is somewhat better now that they've stopped him being such a yobbo. And i'd quite like to get a slow cooker as a wedding pressie!
I did think the Umed doorbell bits were quite funny, specially Kirk diving for the floor at a machine gun attack and then thinking it was way cool!
@ abbyk - Good one!
@ Rebecca - Go team Gary!
@ Tvor - Yobbo! That's hilarious! I'm adding that to my vernacular!
Glad they are softening the Windasses now and they could make great characters. Fed up of Chesney's sour little face now though, he used to be such a cute kid. Fiz was pretty ungracious over that slow cooker (I adore mine), she needs all the friends she can get at the moment! LOL at the loss of the "ding", it happens to us all. Find it odd that the normally picky Norris did not check Sheila Wheelers refs and just offered her the job on the spot, I think she is going to be annoying, we dont need another off the wall" female character imo, we have just got used to Pam.
@ Waltzing Matilda - You're right, Sheila did have an air of "Auntie Pam" to her.
