Coronation Street Episode Review; Friday 28 Sept 2018
Good evening and welcome to the events on Friday night on Coronation Street. As I was in Manchester on Friday evening I was unable to catch up until Saturday night so this is slightly later than normal. Saturday morning was spent on t'Street - great tour.
Drugs have returned to the Street with the appearance of Cormac who is the son of Ronan Truman (who acquired a new head whilst in the Big House). Daniel warns the returned Robert and Michelle of Cormac's parentage and they try to work out how they can sack him. Cormac has told Ryan he was not doing drugs so they decide to wait until he steps out of line. Cormac promptly arranges enough drugs to supply the French Foreign Legion as well as arranging invitations for Ryan, Sophie and Bethany to a new nightclub in town and they gather at Michelle's flat where Cormac is already flying higher than Concorde. Sophie and Bethany do not want to get into drugs and leave and Ryan pursues them (enabling Sophie to revisit history and her previous experience of Ryan and drugs). Cormac puts some of the drugs in Ryan's jacket pocket and then decides to ingest most of the rest. When Ryan returns he finds Cormac fitting (see above). He summons Ali but no other health professionals. Eventually Ali declares Cormac dead. Michelle arrives with the paramedics and to cover everyone's backsides Michelle dreams up a cock and bull story of events (saying Ryan found Cormac dead) rather than simply admitting that Ryan is mentally deficient - Ali also tells them that there is a contaminated batch of ecstasy going around. Oh and for the record DS MacKinnon is on the case.
Light "relief" is seeing Steve running around the cobbles trying to convince Peter not to tell Tracy about his little bunk-up with Leanne whilst having a wobble. Steve tries to blackmail by using Simon but Peter is not falling for that. Leanne gets an ear bashing from Toyah over her meaningless bunk-up. Amy's elbow injury also apparently prevents her attending the wedding (which I find hard to believe) and is more excited about the money she will get from suing the spa for the injury! Simon wants Peter to ensure Leanne and Tracy do not kick off over the page boy outfit so after making Steve sweat for most of the day Peter tells Steve that whilst he will not tell Tracy about the bunk-up he cannot be a hypocrite and so will be going away to Portsmouth with Simon instead of attending the wedding. Steve tells Tracy that Peter is not attending the wedding and she leaves Peter a voicemail message to fall off the pier and drown (the pier is actually in Southsea - close but no cigar).
Roy tries to educate Ryan on the difference between literally and figuratively - but as already observed this is more than Ryan's brain can manage. And Chesney maintains the campaign to get Brian back into teaching. Do you know what they say about bat enthusiasts? They hang around together.
Sean warns Billy that trying to keep a secret on the Street is a nigh impossibility and obviously Sean is not entirely discreet when he lets slip to Alya that Josh is holed up above Preston's Petals. She stomps round and whilst Josh fails to admit his misdemeanours, Alya does not fall for it and now believes his guilt. Josh summons Billy who decides he has to go and tell David. Alya has however already told David where Josh can be found so having himself been rescued by Billy, David cannot accept Billy helping Josh and tells Billy about the other individual he knows Josh raped. Billy returns home and lays it on the line for Josh (above) - no remorse, no lodging.
Jude wants to be a paramedic. The application form wants reasons why and apparently working in retail is not a transferable skill. Luckily Yasmeen is running some first aid courses at the Community Centre - the first one is this evening - and that will look good on the application form. Jude so wants it he turns up late! Yasmeen is washing up and like we all do she cuts herself with a knife. She pulls her hand out of the water and there is some old dried on blood on one finger. (Fresh blood is far redder). Jude takes one look and decides to fall over and lay down on the floor as obviously the sight of blood disquiets him. Jude lies to Angie saying the course went well and then Roy gives him a cheque for £3k to help fund the course.
With the drug death and a revisit to David's rape this evening it was all a bit heavy. And Tracy will find out you know Steve. Kelly did a wonderful job whilst I was away so I will be here again next week.

Michelle pays no heed to the law whatsoever. She was so quick to tell everyone to lie to the police. Even poor Ali who wanted to be honest is going to get dragged into her web of deceit, I hope he doesn't end up ruining his career because of Michelle the monster mummy.
If a body is found in a home the police would treat it as a crime scene until the coroner comes. They wouldn't leave them in there with a closed door to have a chat and contaminate the scene.
I sure wouldn't want to be their downstairs neighbour. Between her high heels and bodies falling over, I'd never get a moments peace!
