Coronation Street Episode Review; Weds 8th of August 7.30pm

Welcome to Wednesday's edition of the Coronation Street Blog and the first of tonight's two-episode reviews...

'All is fair in love & war-unless your buying a pub' is my (imaginary) corrie adage and one that has real resonance on the street, in tonight's first episode.

Peter may have turned down Johnny's derisory offer, but Toyah takes a stand and using her Battersby spirit, sells it anyway.

We've had a rather patriarchal (and quite nasty) Peter Barlow recently, I was glad to see Toyah take charge.

With both parties keen on a chance for a fresh start, how will barmaid Liz fair in this deal?. If Steve has his way, three is definitely a crowd!. Succumbing to Liz's admittance of her dalliance with Johnny, will Steve's words of warning cause any damage?.

Steve, however (forgetting his own hypocrisy) is keen to do Abbie a favour, by collecting the twins birthday presents from the post office. He does seem keen on Abbie?.

As Abbie tries to win the twins over with a game of 'hide and seek' the kids aren't interested. No sooner can little Charlie leg it down the ginnel, the twins are soon back with social services, and Abbie's back in The Rovers drowning her sorrows.

Celebrating the deal, Jenny and Johnny arrive at the pub for a toast with Toyah and Peter. Steve may have been late with the kids birthday presents but it appears Corrie writers have delivered my birthday present early!.

Jenny Bradley as the new Rovers Return landlady!!! (it's the 17th of August if you're wondering).

In other news; Henry fails to get a loan, Imran has bad news for Rana, and Emma catches Seb's eye.

Anyway, that's me for another week. I'm @rybazoxo your self-styled 'Cobbles Connoisseur'

Keep an eye out for @GlennWrites 8.30pm review.

TARA!
