Sally Dynevor, who plays Sally Metcalfe on Coronation Street has said she'd love to see Sally's sister Gina Seddon back on the show.
In an interview where Sally talks about new producer Kate Oates coming in to take over the show. She says: “It’s
a kind of mixture of hope, fear and excitement.Everyone speaks very highly of Kate and she’s a new broom for us. It’s a
new era for the Street, but there’s always an element of uncertainty
with a new producer because you don’t know what they’re going to do and
which way they’re going to go.”
When asked if she could choose something to happen to her character, Sally says: “I’d
love it if Gina, Sally’s sister, came back to Weatherfield. She was on
the Street once years ago. Gina’s the only extended family Sally has
left as both her parents passed away some years ago, I think. There’s
been no talk of it so far as I’m aware, but it would be wonderful if
they cast a Gina and she turned up in Corrie after all these years. Can
you help put it out there?”

Interestingly, it's not the first time that Sally has said in interviews that she'd love Gina to return. Back in 2015 she said the same thing here.

I adore Sally, especially with Tim! (I love the fact that in real life she is also a 'Sally & Tim' couple!)
Seeing Gina again after all of these years would be wonderful, as it would be to see Bill, Kevin's father and also HIS own sister, Debbie!
PS...I would also like to finally meet Kev's half brother Carl!
Julie Foy who played Gina IS STILL ACTING!
Please join my Facebook group to bring back the lovely Julie Foy, who played Gina Seddon in Coronation Street, from 1988-1989.

Gina was such a funny character years back, and the actress who portrayed Gina, Julie Foy is STILL ACTING. Julie is also a friend of mine, she has kept under the radar for many years, mainly acting in theatre.

Gina has been mentioned over the years, but not seen since 1989.
Gina now lives in Newcastle, and has two kids.
I could imagine Gina returning, working in the factory showing snotty Sally up. Could imagine Gina being proper rough and brash, and similar to Emmerdale's Val. Now let's hope Kate Oates reintroduces Gina, and Julie back to the show.
