Now then. I've been thinking about Coronation Street, as you do, (don't you? I do!). Now that Katy's decided she hasn't got the stomach to be a paramedic, she doesn't know what her next move will be. I think I've got an idea what it's going to be and I'm going to speculate that Katy will soon be pulling pints behind the bar at the Rovers.
It's not really a stretch. She's young and pretty. She's got a job at the gym but it's probably not that fiscally rewarding. Over at the pub, Steve is absent more than he's there and Michelle and Liz together can't cover all the shifts. Liz replaced Tina with Eva but we know that Catherine Tyldesly is going to be on her maternity leave pretty soon. My money is on a visit to New York to see Stella and they're going to need part time help behind the bar.
Enter Katy. She can work evenings and Chesney can mind Joseph. I don't imagine it will be long term, just until Eva returns because we also know that Georgia May Foote is going to be leaving as well. It's inevitable, really. Most of the attractive young Weatherfielders in the neighbourhood work at the Rovers. There really isn't anyone else. Sophie might be old enough but she's really not barmaid material, is she, not with her cheerless demeanor.
That's my best guess. What say you?

For me, Katy is kind of a space filler. Nothing against the actress, but the character is weak and pointless (without even the saving grace of being sharp or funny like Steph) and I don't think she'll be missed at all when she does go.
I don't think they'd waste Katy in the bar given the actress is due to leave early next year.
She has enrolled to do some A Levels according to a recent episode. And when she was still at school she was considered to be smart, and expected to do well in her exams - until her pregnancy put paid to those plans.
Hopefully she'll decide to do some further study - perhaps business studies, inspired by Alya, or bookkeeping (with the triple-double letters!)
Whatever she decides to do, I'd expect it to underpin the eventual reason for her departure.
You could well be right, Tvor. It would only be for a couple of months and probably her exit story will be the most interesting part of her time on Corrie. My guess is Katy leaves in Feb/March with Owen's ex who arrives in W'field after Izzie dies in the minibus crash. The actress is very pretty but she won't be missed.
I think if anyone ends up at the Rover's it will be Steph. Her and Steve seem to have struck up a friendship and I like the brother/sister vibe the two of them have. Maybe Nick pushes her too far at the Bistro so Steve offers to have her make a few mixed drinks at the pub.
Yep Katy although a pretty girl with lovely hair - obviously doesnt get it done at Audreys - she is a bit of a pointless character without the depth to be memorable. What was the paramedic business about anyway if she now decides she doesnt have the stomach for it? I suspect that I have read that her mother has been cast, that Mrs Armstrong will appear for a short while and take Katy to live with her.
What???? Izzy does in the bus crash?
