Video: Claire King on Corrie newcomer Erica Holroyd

Claire King made her debut apperance on Coronation Street last night as Erica, Liz's mate from Spain.  Actress Claire King was interviewed on ITV's This Morning this morning and talks about joining Corrie in her new role.

You can read our blogger Ruth's interview with Claire King here.

Claire says that Erica's running away from Spain and a bad marriage and she wants a good time now with her mate Liz.  She's friends in real life with Bev Callard, who plays Liz, and talks about how iconic The Rovers set is to be working in. She says that Bill Roache (Ken Barlow) told her he still gets nervous doing scenes in The Rovers!

Claire talks about Erica's upcoming romance with Nick Tilsley and says she loves playing the comedy scenes against Helen Worth as Nick's mum Gail.

Asked how long she was going to be in the show, Claire says she is "coming back in January" so I guess that means she has to leave before she can return.

Jeez...yet another new face. There are way too many people on this show now. It is becoming diluted and when that happens it just mean you stop caring about the characters.
New Years resolution and wish for 2015? A NEW producer who understands this show and characters.
