The Advent season is upon us once again, and the ITV Coronation Street website are releasing classic clips of classic Corrie Christmases of bygone years.
Today, they're going back 9 years to Christmas Day 2005. Here's what the website says:
"Shed a tear with a scared and vulnerable Mike Baldwin in 2005, after he got lost on his way home.
This was the start of Mike's tragic battle with Alzheimer's Disease."
And what a tear-jerking storyline was that. Seeing a once powerful businessman like Baldwin become the shadow of his former self.

The recent Classic Corrie clips really show the downward spiral of the stories they have now. I don't know who was writing and producing/directing back then, but it's the way I remember how it used to be, and how we couldn't wait for the next episode. Now most of the story lines are so poorly written, it just makes me sad. Just another trashy soap opera now. Thanks for the trip down memory lane though!! Much appreciated.
Mike's Alzheimer's was a tough story to watch but really well done, I thought.
