Stella then launches into a tirade of her own bad luck. Stella with Karl goes to tell Owen that the insurance money is not paying up.Karl and Owen square up to each other and Owen looks for all the world like he'll wield the crowbar, which he does, but into the wall. Alpha male clash! Karl has the audacity and guts to call Owen a coward. Staying in the jungle, in comes Anna, defending her partner and her cub. Will Owen accept Stella's offer. Money is at the root of it all.
Kylie is a perfectly healthy young woman half way through her pregnancy and having David fussing around her must be very annoying. When she feels the baby kicking, David invites Nick to feel Kylie's bump to detect the baby kicking. Hmmm. Very awkward for both Nick and Kylie.But David, come on! Talking to Marcus in the bistro, David is asking about a birthing pool. He states that he's not sure how he feels about another man touching his wife's bits and pieces - even a gay one.Dear oh dear, David. Then there's Gary with Tina too - though that 'concern' has an ulterior motive. Does Tina realise it? Maybe as she extols the virtues of being single, including deciding what to watch on TV, making your own meal choices and having a bed to yourself. 'Believe me' she says, 'Couples? Overrated.' Maybe Tina, but Izzy is getting anxious and that with reason. It is possible that Gary will make a determined play for Tina but it seems clear that Tina would not in the least be interested - as she said tonight, they're mates.
The Sylvia story is intriguing, beginning with Hayley stating that Sylvia is having a wardrobe crisis. On his return Roy, who is evermore endearing, has enjoyed his medieval almshouses of Lancashire and still has the Staffordshire steam trains to look forward to.
Stella has become gradually more dependent on him since he rescued her, which is understandable. But we know, we just know, that at some point the whole truth will out because this is soapland and retribution will be ours. It's good stuff though, the longer the writers draw it out the more tense and explosive it will be. On their wedding day perhaps? Will it be Leanne who discovers the truth? Speculation abounds, but it should be good.

Ugh, how many scene's was Stella in these two episodes? She totally DOMINATED Monday night. It was beyond a joke and I'm afraid I have to consider my Corrie habit now seriously after 30+ years. Because I think that's what it is, just a habit. There is nothing enjoyable about it anymore sadly. I will continue to visit the blog but stop viewing the programme until things change. Very sad, but it has to be done. Until the show reverts back to Coronation Street and not Beige Boring Stella Street. Makes me so mad :(
This is now getting beyond ridiculous - Stella in every scene and does Karl ever leave her side, I am wondering if they even go to the bathroom together, he is becoming an appendage of her. The whole "crowbar" incident was poorly acted and contrived. I wish The "poor old me" act makes her actually dislikeable when before she was just annoying. To write a cheque knowing it will bounce is a criminal offence and sick of Boria wanting to "treat everyone" all the time to meals out - dip into your purse and help pay the workmen who have families to feed you self obsessed old baggage.
I was actually hoping Owen was going to smash that odious Karl in the face with the ever popular local crowbar but alas, it wasn't to be. Agree with the above. It's Stellation Street for the foreseeable. Thank the gods for blogs...I don't have to watch now.
It's stretching it a bit to have us believe that a builder - mate or no mate - would lay out a fortune of his own money on the basis of a promise. Being related to the building trade, I know all would ask for substantial money up front, preferably in cash.
So Stella abandoned Leanne as a baby, has only been back in her life for a couple of years, and flounces off in a huff because Leanne won't give her a large amount of money. Seems that Karl isn't the only dodgy character in that family.
Also, would any builder, knowing that the insurance hadn't paid out yet, not require cash up front?
An Insurer's adjuster would've secured at least 2 quotations from "preferred" contractors. The Insured could've also submitted a quotation from their contractor. The insurance adjuster would've examined them, negotiated and settled on one of them - usually the most reasonable one. An adjuster would've also been on scene to examine the damages, taken statements, consulted with the fire department, etc etc etc.
NO construction work would've been undertaken before hearing from the Insurer!! So ..... stupid storyline all 'round actually.
