It's Friday again so it's time for this week's fab Coronation Street
photo. Here's a picture from a wedding that never actually took place. Who are the bride and groom and why didn't the wedding happen? I can identify most of the guests but there are a couple who have me stumped. Who is the man behind Elsie and who is the man in uniform?

The man behind Elsie is Cyril Turpin. Don't recognise the man in the uniform - maybe he was a relation of nearly-bride Alice Pickens?
Have just done some more research, and Alice Pickens had a son Douglas, who was a Royal Marine Commando Training Instructor - so I think we can safely say, that's who the uniformed man in the picture is! Douglas took Emily Nugent out on a date during his short time in Weatherfield.
Thanks njblas, of course it's Cyril Turpin, I should have recognised him.
How brilliant are these Fab Photo Friday's. I love them every week. Happy memories of fantastic characters! Thanks for posting.
I think the lad in the uniform is Peter - he was in the navy so perhaps he was home on leave. Liz
It's definitely Douglas Pickins. Peter Barlow would have been 4 years old when this photo was taken in 1969:)
