Coronation Street new boys Sol Heras and Marc Baylis, who are playing Ryan Connor and Rob Donavon, were interviewed on ITV's Daybreak today.
We've already seen Marc as Rob Donavon made his debut on the cobbles this week and we'll see Sol as the new Ryan Connor next Wednesday 18 July. Remind yourself about Ryan's past here.
Ryan returns to the Street after he gets kicked out of University and there's all sorts of problems with drugs he's going to bring with him when he returns. Sol said he's nervous about watching his first scenes on screen because of the enormous responsibility he feels to do a good job. He admitted he was a little star struck being on the Street and has to pinch himself, he can't believe he's in the green room, or on the cobbles or in the Rovers, and says it's amazing to think it's his job every day now.
There's a bit of rivalry between Ryan and Rob and we'll see a to do in the Rovers soon.
Marc said his gran's pleased he's joined Corrie as she's a huge fan. About a year ago, he asked his gran "What job should I go for?" and she replied: "Well, I like a bit of Corrie" and he said "I'll see what I can do". He said it was nice to give his gran a smile in her later years.
Shouldn't think Corrie will have any problems with nominations for Sexiest Male in next year's Soap Awards with these two.
