The storyline for the upcoming spinoff featuring classic characters Reg Holdsworth and Curly Watts has hit the media. I have to say it doesn't make me want to run out and reserve a copy.
As reported here, it features Curly managing several hotels and he gives Reg a chance to put on a Medieval weekend at one of them. Somehow, Rosie Webster gets hired as a serving wench and somehow she has Jason Grimshaw in tow. And SOMEHOW, Mary Taylor catches Reg's eye. How all these other characters manage to come together for this remains to be seen. None of them seem to have any connection whatsoever to Reg and Curly. They might have had my interest until I saw Rosie and Jason involved. Sorry, ITV, this one isn't going to fly for me.

Oh it sounds like the script for a porn flick.
Funnily, I was going to comment on the thought of Reg coming back onto the street, and was going to say he could be the next quarry for Mary to set her sight on.
This sounds like a bit of a waste of effort from all concerned. BTW Colin Fishwick kinda looked like he'd escaped from a 70s porn flick, with that 'tache.
Oh yes, you're right about Colin's 'tache.
To me, it looked very comical.
If we hadn't have 'met' Colin previously at his house party,I definitely would have thought he'd gone for an easy disguise!
Oh no, anything with the words Rosie Webster and wench in the same sentence doesn't appeal at all. I wonder if her cleavage will get its own credit?
Sounds like we will be seeing quite a few street characters in this one :D
Also this is a further hint toward Jason and Rosie becoming a couple xD
I have to admit, I was dismayed to read the list of characters. However, knowing me, I will buy it to add to my collection and watch it just the once! :-)
bbhilda. I might download it. ;)
yes may download here too
I might have been able to put up with Reg if the other characters and storyline sounded okay. As soon as I read Rosie was in it, that put me off. It's too bad as I would have liked to have seen Curly.
How can they think that fans would enjoy something like this??
Gurning, pouting and overacting: I cannot see how Reg Holdsworth will still appeal to audiences after 20 odd years have past and some newer viewers wont know him or Curly. Unfortunately I cant see this being a big hit.
Most of the people who might have appreciated Reg's style and Curly, most likely won't appreciate Rosie and what she brings to the show.
Rosie is certainly true to life and she brings it to the show. A silly, uneducated, conceited, little back-street slapper.
Agreed with the last commenter about Rosie. But she doesn't half get on my nerves!
