David Neilson talks about Roy Cropper
There's a lot of publicity out this week surrounding the release of Romanian Holiday (which you can win) and with that view, David Neilson gives a rare interview to The Mirror. It's a nice, long article with lots about David and his acting history and lots about how he views Roy Cropper. To answer a long standing question, yes, he sees and acts Roy Cropper as a man who has Asperger's Syndrome but it's not mentioned in the show because he feels a label would not help Roy's character any. There's loads more so just pop over and have a read!

Interesting actor playing an interesting character. Takes his job rather seriously...made a good living if not career out of playing an eccentric greasy spoon cafe owner. I'm not generally interested in actors' personal lives, but it was a nice interview with the bits that related to his Roy Cropper character-- enjoyed the background bits that went into how he approached the Roy Cropper character - Asbergers, his approach to being "famous" or recognizable, his mom's bag...
He also said that he would NEVER do personal appearances as Roy as it would make a mockery of the character!
