News that Malcolm Hebden is back filming on the set of Coronation Street as Norris Cole was posted this week and you can read it here.
And now, Digital Spy reveal Norris' return storyline - and it's a bit of a shocker. Look away now if you don't want to know.

Okay, here we go.
When Norris returns to Coronation Street (he'll be on screen in April) he announces that he is engaged to Emily Bishop's niece Freda Burgess.
Digital Spy report that Malcolm Hebden is currently filming a short storyline in which he announces to Mary Taylor and Rita Tanner that he's getting married.
Norris and Freda will declare their plans to buy a house together, leaving Mary heartbroken.
I wonder what's really going on?

Frieda is old enough to be his daughter and the last time she was here,they despised each other.
I can't find an age for Freda, but suspect she is older than Mary. She and Norris only married to win a competition anyway, and didn't seem to live together as man and wife (ahem!), so I expected them to get an annulment. I agree with Anon 1040 that this is probably an exit story for Norris. A shame, as Malcolm Hebden is a brilliant comic actor, but in view of his health who can blame him for deciding to take it easy?
