Bruce Jones, who played Les Battersby in Coronation Street, was spotted in Blackpool yesterday when the Corrie crew were filming these scenes.
His appearance with the Coronation Street filming crew led some to believe that Bruce was returning to the show. However, this has been swiftly denied by ITV.
An ITV spokesperson stated that Bruce is not
returning to the soap and was merely collecting something from his
dressing room when he was spied on-set.

Collecting something from his dressing room?! He left almost a decade ago for goodness sake, surely it would have been collected long before now.
Maybe he is in talks with Kate Oates of a return, especially with all this talk of her wanting to bring back legends.
"Collecting something from his dressing room" that he hasn't been in for HOW many years? I think they need a new Head of Plausible Excuses.
I'd like to see Les return - whether played by Bruce or not. I understand he blotted his copy book, and it's up to them if they want to stick with the "permanent exclusion" approach, but a different casting would be welcome for this fan. I love the idea of him and Tim sparking off each other, and it would give Leanne some great scope too - less of the doom, gloom and misery she's had to suffer the past few years.
LOL - snap Gracie :o) Great minds, and all that.
Gracie & Digger, I think you have the wrong end of the stick. Surely he was collecting something from his dressing room at Blackpool North Pier where he is appearing in Jack & the Beanstalk???? That's what I took it to mean anyway.
Wouldn't it be funny if they accidentally got a shot of the pier in with an advertisement for Jack & the Beanstalk starring Bruce Jones!!
Yes Anon, he was passing by on his way to/from his dressing room at the theatre.
Ah! Light dawns - thanks Anon!
No disrespect to the blogger but I never found the character of Les "loveable" I thought he was a nasty piece of work. Having said that he was good to Chesney so I'll give him that. I don't feel there is any need for his character to return.
True. Horrible character played by a terrible actor.
No disrespect to the blogger (me) taken... I never said he was loveable, however and it's not a phrase I would use about actor or character.
AT the time when Les on the Street I found his nastiness too vulgar. Now, others have so far surpassed him in the nastiness department that he perhaps might come across as lovable lout in comparison. Though I have to agree with the comment about his acting abilities.
Despise both this character and the actor - he was probably trying to stick his oar in with the Corrie crew, hoping for another 10 seconds of fame.
I never liked the Les character and was pleased when Bruce got the sack. I think that they need to ramp up Michael when he returns and see how he works with Tim.
I truly hope that the new producer will see fit to bring Bruce back...he still is cherished by MANY of us....Les is a legend on Corrie and I for one....have always been on Team Les!
