STEVE STRUGGLES TO ADJUST TO NORMALITY. Steve’s upbeat ahead of his shift at Street Cars but Michelle wonders if he’s pushing himself too hard. As he works on the switch in the cab office, the pressure of the job and Andrea’s incessant wittering soon take their toll and he leaves early. Returning to the pub Steve discovers he mixed up the barrels when he changed them earlier and feeling utterly useless, he heads off to bed. Steve admits to Michelle how tough a day it’s been. Michelle’s sympathetic, realising Steve faces a long road to recovery.
OWEN’S GUTTED BY KATY’S BETRAYAL. Izzy refuses to meet with Linda but intrigued to hear what she has to say, Katy secretly invites her over to the flat. Linda assures Katy she’s always loved both she and Izzy, that she made mistakes and just wants a chance to put things right. As Katy sees Linda out, Owen spots them and angrily heads over. But will he be able to keep them apart?
JULIE FEEL OUT OF THE LOOP. Dev asks Mary if she’ll step in and look after the children whilst he’s away. Mary’s flattered and assures Dev she won’t let him down. But will Julie feel pushed out?

Frosty has asked before and he will ask it again - WHAT THE HECK IS ANDREA STILL DOING THERE? They dont bring back Sinead's mother or gran, yet keep on this totally pointless grinning appendage!!
Frosty: "grinning appendage" LOL
I thought Dev was going to be away for a long while, surely he would take the kids with him? You can't leave them with a minder for all that time, can you?
Dev's leaving seems remarkably sudden. He vaguely mentioned sponsoring an orphan several weeks ago, then the next thing is Julie announcing that he is going off to India.
Given that he was grated an extended period of absence last year, it seems odd that the actor would be absent for another long period.
Has the reason been given? I presume it is too much to hope that he won't be coming back. The corner shop would receive such a boost by being under permanent, new ownership.
Why would you leave YOUR OWN children to go off and help orphaned children??? Why couldn't they just have him go and help his aunts in India, for example. The whole thing is ludicrous.
I don't remember Dev being off screen for an extended period last year but i do recall last year that he announced he'd be gone this year.
Frosty - I completely agree with all of your comments. What is the point of Andrea I find her character completely annoying. Sinead's elderly great-grandmother arrives alone on the bus? Why isn't Sinead's mother there. I am watching in Canada and am bored by the hospital scenes. Beth yapping in Sinead's face, Chesney with his face screwed up looking like he is suffering from constipation. Craig lovely lad that he is bringing in a huge picnic basket and dvd player. Would the hospital allow that many visitors and let you play dvds? I am constantly amazed by the number of visitors that Corrie characters have sitting by their bedsides by the hour.
Linda assures Katy she’s always loved both she and Izzy
I may not be the sharpest pencil in the box but is the use of she in this sentence grammatically correct?
It doesn't sound right, shouldn't it be Linda assures Katy she’s always loved both her and Izzy
What I find amusing about Sinead in the hospital bed scenes, is that she still has on full eye makeup. Other women on this show have endured hospital scenes and other hardships without makeup, thus lending more credibility to the scene. I'm not understanding the big batting eyelashes on Sinead. It just seems so silly.
Frosty...have always been with you regarding Andrea, the grinning appendage LOL! When I saw the picture of her and Steve in the cab office, I was so dismayed. She should just get on the next plane, join Lloyd and Jenna.
Zagg....agree re: batting eyelashes lol, totally absurd that the hospital would allow her to keep those fake eyelashes on, and absolutely would not allow them, or nail varnish when having surgery!
Dubcek, previews of Corrie frequently misuse "she" and "he" rather than "her" and "him", in a situation which requires an object pronoun. I actually wrote Flaming Norah about it and received a reply saying that these comments are provided by ITV as press releases, and that the Corrie BlogSpot has no role in their composition.
I understand your pain - it gets me every time I have to read this (quite frequent) error.

Frosty,You took the word right out of m mouth with your spot on comments particurely about Andrea.I wish she was going instead of Julie.
Anonymous,I am also watching in Canada and agree with your comments about the hospital scenes and I also wish that Chesney would get his chip off his shoulder and quit blaming Steve for the accident.Corris has become very nasty and dark with residents turning against each other.
We love our Corrie here on the Pacific North West, always have since the 80's...long live Weatherfield.. Some characters we enjoy more than others, but wouldn't miss an episode! They become an extension of your family, to be sure...
