New pics: Is Chesney leaving Coronation Street?
New paparazzi pictures emerged this week which have lead to many sites suggesting that Chesney is leaving Coronation Street. Now then, the pictures appear to have been taken at an airport, so Chesney could well be leaving Weatherfield and flying of to see Katy and Joseph in Portugal.
But could it also mean that Sam Aston is leaving Coronation Street and Chesney behind him? I wonder what's going on.
The pictures show Chesney being driven to the airport by Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs. And then the two men embrace and Chesney takes a phone call, looking distressed, which to be fair is Chesney's default face-position.
You can see the pictures at Digital Spy.

Reckon he's just going to Portugal. That look on his face while on the phone isn't anguish, it's the default as you say.
I'm not sure that it's just a holiday. Wouldn't Sinead be with him at the airport if it was? I reckon he's going to clear his head. Open-ended exit: he may be back, he may not.
It wouldn't be so bad if he was leaving. I think a lot of viewers, me included, feel quite attached to him because of his history, but as an adult character he's just not that good. Reuniting him with Katie would be a nice happy ending for him.
Louby said it nicer than I would have.
Nice if he's leaving to be closer to his son, but not to get back together with Katie. They didn't work as a couple for a reason.
If he was really leaving it wouldn't just be Tyrone seeing him off. I think he's simply using the settlement he got for being attacked in the Bistro to go see his son and clear his head.
I read the title of this post and my only thought was, "Oh please, yes!"
The sooner the better, I always found him annoying.
