The spoiler says that Roy gets his own allotment to grow some fruit and veg, and meets a widowed lady on the next allotment lot.
She won't be a love interest but someone who Roy will feel obliged to help guide through the world. Roy will offer real, redemptive support to this new woman.It's just over 12 months since Roy's wife Hayley died of pancreatic cancer. Making friends with a new woman could be just the tonic for Roy that he needs, I feel. At least it'll get him away from moaning Mary.

I hate to think ahead, but you can imagine Roy and Ken inhibiting much of the same dramatic territory potentially now as both deal with being widowed. At least Roy's storyline is moving on slightly
I imagine this friend will get the same treatment from Mary as Julie does.
If she's back by the time this stroryline begins,I doubt Fiz will approve either of someone taking Hayley's place in Roy's life.
Moaning Mary, good name for her, she's crazier than a bucket of snakes!
OK if she is just a friend to Roy as he needs one. Carla seems to have been sorely lacking in that bracket. But not as a romantic interest as Roy would have been a one woman man. As for Mary and her increasingly unhinged behaviour, its now becoming a bit tiresome writers!
