In an interview with Metro, Michelle Collins, who plays Coronation Street's St Ella of the Back Room, says her character is going to have a fling with a fella on the cobbles.
She said: 'Stella is going to have a little bit of a romance in her life coming up but I can't really say who it is but it's quite exiting. It is someone on the street and it's someone that people like, that's all I'm going to say. I don't really know too much about it as they've just started it.'
And when asked if the romance might be with character Dev Alahan she refused to confirm but admitted it would be a fun relationship to play out.
'I've known Jimmy for years, we go back a long way so that would be quite fun. I adore him, he's very funny. It's nice working with him.'
Michelle also admitted she'd welcome the idea of character Les Battersby, who plays her on-screen daughter Leanne Battersby's dad, making a return to the soap.
'I've never met the man who plays Les Battersby but it would be interesting,' Michelle confessed.
Hmm. I can't see Bruce Jones being asked back to play Les any time soon, love.

Div and St Ella, two of the worst characters are to get it on - ug. Roll on Stuart Blackburn and lets hope he gets shut of these two.
It can't possibly be Dev - she says the character is well-liked!
One word Corrie. NO!!!
To be honest, I'd still like it to be Rob. He's funnier with her than with Eva. (Yes this is how I rate all relationships on Coronation Street)
I know the character of Dev isn't that well loved in these parts but I have to say I think it's more about what he's given to work with than his acting ability and I like his character. It's his 'other half' I can stand! As for Les Battersby, it would be BRILLIANT if he were to come back I, for one, would love it! It would make a great storyline though. Carl goes off with Sunita and then Stella and Dev. Interesting possibilities! :)
Well liked? Let's see .... Roy? Lloyd? Ken? Tyrone? Kevin?
Or maybe they'll do a lesbian thing?
Emily? Eileen? Sally? Hayley? Julie?
My ideas are no crazier than some of the other plots we've seen. :-)

There's not that many single men of a *reasonable* age for Stella is there? Given that St. Ella is likely in her early 50s, who is there between say, 40 and 60 that's single... Dev, Kevin, and that's it. Rob is in his 30s. Kevin will always love Sally. Ergo. Dev. swop partners. Karl goes with Sunita, Dev goes with St. Ella. How original. I don't think.
Go on, let it be Dev. Make it permanent and they can both be axed when the characters move to pastures new.
If he's 'well liked' it can't be Dev!! But..how fitting would it be for her to carry on with Dev...right in Sunita's two-timing face.
Here's a horrible thought, Tvor. You forgot Lloyd. Well liked, heck, he's probably the most liked character on Corrie right now. And he has a thing for blond landladies. And now he has a daughter Eva's age-ish, a reason for them to talk.
I'll pass you the Kleenex.
Maybe Les will have a new head? They did it with adults Toxic Tracey and Nicad Nick...
Is it REALLY to do with what he (Dev) is given, NickJay6? His acting is all over the place in any given scene, so I don't think you can blame the writers in this case. And let's face it he's not used that much, but for some reason whomever is producer doesn't seem able to sack him. I wonder why?
It is Roc Stella has a fling with. Eva finds and goes ballistic. She lost Nick to sister Leanna, and now Rob to her mum. Eva knows only way to fight back, she trots off to a plastic surgeon and has boobs increased few inches more. Unfortunately the weight of them deforms and she is confined to a wheelchair. Hey, its as good as what the Corrie writers come up with.
Dev seems like the obvious choice, as we all pray that Lloyd doesn't fall for her charms again. It would be more entertaining if it was Ken, to further confuse Deirdre, or Tyrone - just because Kirsty would blow a gasket.
