Coronation Street's wedding blues
For the second time this year we had an interrupted wedding with tears and accusations. This one didn't end in a romantic scene amid a smoky train station. It ended with one bride in a heap on the cobbles and another crying her heart out in a car.
I have to admit I felt back for both girls but in my doddering old age, I really did think they were too young for a lifelong committment. For once, I am in agreement with Sally and Kevin but what could they do but go along with it in the end?
Sophie and Sian are over just that quick! Kevin and Sunita both knew about Sophie's doubts and Kevin interrupted the wedding when Sophie seemed hesitant. Did he do the right thing?
My opinion on this and more over here.

Kevin did do the right thing in my opinion, he's her father and could see that she was struggling!
It was like a Benny Hill sketch, two silly over indulged 17 year olds that dont have the experience to make such drastic decisions anyway chasing after each other in wedding dresses. Sophie shouting and calling everyone SCHOOOOPID, and then discussing everything with Sunita whilst Sian is upstairs and can obviously hear every word - dah! One of the worst storylines of 2011.
Why would the sanctimonious Emily even show up at the wedding?
And what's with the friggin racoon eyes on Rita? Her eyes looked like two burned holes in a blanket. I swear, they pile more eyeliner on her with every scene. One day she won't be able to open her eyes!
I agree that the "wedding" was terrible. For what seems like the hundredth time, assorted cast members put on their suits or pinned on their fascinators to witness yet another relationship break down at the altar.
It was totally unconvincing, less dramatic than a traffic jam and about as interesting. Sophie reminded me of a two year old throwing a tantrum. Dreadful rubbish.
Other than the Molly/Kevin - Audrey/Weird Mark debacles this was one of the worst storylines of 2011. Now we will have to endure the wailing and whining ad nauseum of Sophie, Sally blaming Kevin and Kevin's look of utter bewilderment. What a waste of two lovely wedding dresses.
I agree with the others. I thought the whole thing was very awkward and not enjoyable to watch in the least. Farcical even comes to mind. Kevin standing up in the church like that was strange (and yet predictable), and I had to fast forward through the two of them crying and blubbing. Plus, why on earth was Sophie saying that stuff to Amber when she knew that Sian was upstairs? Did not make the least bit of sense to me!
