I’ve been on holiday for the past couple of weeks and missed all the commotion surrounding Corrie. I think the criticism is largely unjustified and I’d refer you to Tvor’s great post, because I agree with a lot of what she said.
I know it’s only a very minor thing, but it made me smile anyway. It summed up Fiz’s situation perfectly!
I don't think it's the first time Corrie's used music that reflects what is happening in scenes. Has anyone spotted any more?

Too many to remember anything specific. It's always worth listening out for what's playing on the jukebox in the Rovers as the sound crew usually pick something appropriate.
I can't recall one specific one at the moment but i've heard a number of great related songs in the background of scenes. Some make me chuckle. One i do recall now is...
"I Just Want to say Hello" as Graeme was leaving.
Kiley deliberately put 'Turning Japanese' on to wind Tina up, but that was hardly subtle or subliminal!
'Back to black' by Amy Winehouse was a popular choice for Carla's scenes when she was going through the emotional wringer with Liam!
"Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want" by The Smiths. When Joe McIntyre was desperate for drugs and his life was falling apart he sat in his van with his head in his hands and cried while the song played on the radio. Brilliant. Even though I hated the character I cared and that's what is missing at the moment; I just don't care.
When Tina was dumped, the song that goes like l-i-f-e-g-o-e-s-o-n was playing in the Rovers :P
I remember a few months back 'There Goes My Everything' by Engelbert was sung during the Claudia/Marc/Audrey saga and 'Suspicious Minds' by Elvis during the Lewis/Audrey saga
