The return of Auntie Pam to Coronation Street
Good news for fans of Auntie Pam – she’s returning to the cobbles later this year.
Pam Hobsworth, played by Kate Anthony, has been missing off-screen since December, last seen attending niece Molly’s funeral.
We’d resigned her to the Weatherfield Missing Persons List, especially after the axing of partner Bill Webster. Fear not though, Inside Soap has revealed she’ll be returning to the Street in September.
She’ll be clashing with another Street regular, and will also have some ‘big news’ to share.
Fantastic news, I’d say!

YAY!!! I LOVE AUNTIE PAM!!!
~JB in Canada
Um. I like her too? I don't expect she's back for a long term, though.
Oh that's terrific news. Let's hope she is given some proper storylines of her own, rather than just popping up in other people's storylines. Treated right, her character could easily become a true Corrie great. And a Northerner too!
I liked her as a character, and it certainly won't be the same when she acts without Molly and also without Bill Webster...BRING HIM BACK you rotters!!! eee by gum said the dentist!
bet she has a run in with kevin. Cant think who else she has any grudge with.
Bring back Bill W too.
"Pam" is an actress worth watching.(If they have anyone over 30 on the writing team who can write with wit.)
I might even start watching again.
Aaaaaaaarrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
Yay! I love Auntie Pam, a "normal" character is just what the street needs.
She can't be around all that long - pretty sure she's booked for panto somewhere. But hopefully back again AGAIN in the New Year.
I hope she isn't relegated to wandering around with a basket full of sandwiches again. She sure has a gob on her though so it should be great viewing. I hope she tells Kevin off every time she sees his ugly mug...ha!
oh good i liked her but what could she possibly come back for-revenge against kevin maybe?
This could be very good news if they use her properly and not just not let her wander around with a basket of sandwiches as somebody else also mentioned. She's a strong actress, so that's a good start, there aint many of them on the street these days (many seem so unbelievable and wooden) so we should count our lucky stars maybe. I'm looking at this as one of the better pieces of news recently released from the cobbles. There hasn't been much that hasn't made me either shudder or groan of late to be honest.
What about Aunty Pam selling some home made jam or something else similar. Norris buys this from her and ends up been ill for a few days. He gets the public health in and wishes to sue her for compensation. At the same time, other people who have been in the Kabin have been found to be ill also, and eventually it is found that either his sweets were mouldy when sold, or rat droppings were amongst his sweeets. (Now the shoe is on the other foot for Norris when Pam has a go at him in return for his bad behaviour towards her). Does the writers ever read these posts?
Now my happiness would be complete if they brought back Janice Battersby. She was quite the little vixen!
