Sally Lindsay: No regrets over quitting Corrie

There's a lovely article about Sally Lindsay, who played downtrodden barmaid Shelley Unwin, in The Daily Record today. She says that she hasn't regretted her decision to leave the street for a minute as she's been so busy with other things. After quitting the show she went straight up to the Edinburgh Festival to do a play, she's fulfilled a childhood dream of acting at the Royal Exchange theatre in Manchester and has just finished filming another series of BBC Three sketch show, Scallawagga.

It's good to see someone doing so well after leaving Coronation Street as so often obscurity beckons. Anybody seen Tracy Shaw lately?

Oh Shelly was sooooo good!! Keith (Ciaran) drove her bonkers and Peter didn't help having that affair with the flower chick (Lucy). I was so happy to see her back for her mom's wedding but that fell through cause Fred croacked on his wedding day. I hope she visits again soon. Some characters are such a delight. I actually cried when Des died. Remember him?

Tracy was in panto at Worthing for 4 weeks over the last festive period; plus an episode of
Casualty in October ?

She looked good in the photocall pictures!

when Des died? As in Des Barnes? Did he die? All I really remember about him is when he blew up the speedboat when he was married to ermm thingy ? I think that might have been round about when I started watching Corrie. Didn't he have his wicked way with Raquel at some point as well, shortly before her and Curly got together?

Des and Raquel had a long on-off history. Raquel really loved him and Curly really loved her. She married Curly on the rebound when she realized Des didn't really love her. Des married Natalie Horrocks, the tramp that broke up Kevin and Sally. He died after a scuffle with some blokes that her son Tony owed money to. I think they were Jez Quigley's henchmen.
