Are you ever unfaithful to Corrie?

For this Corrie fan, there's only ever been one soap. Coronation Street has been a part of my life since I was a child, a programme I grew up with and have had positive involvement with, always. That's apart from an intensive, long-term relationship I once had with Brookside (it broke my heart when it went).

Now, I never watch any other soap and I'm wondering what other fans get up to in the soaps world when they're not watching Corrie? Are you and Corrie exclusive or do you soap-hop?

I'm a fan of Neighbours and have watched it regularly since it went on Five but watched it on and off on the BBC. But I'm a bigger fan of Corrie. I also watch EastEnders and Emmerdale when there's a climax or a long running character leaves. And I used to watch Brookside on Sunday afternoons when the omnibus was on and used to watch Welsh soap Pobol y Cwm before it became crap and established characters were axed.

have been an exclusive corrie fan for a little longer than a year now...but over Chistmastime my wandering, lustful eyes looked over across to Eastenders with all their fast-moving plot, murders, etc. and I became a 'follower' of Eastenders (not exactly a fan...). I still like Corrie a lot better even if their plotlines aren't as exciting -- their characters continue to be more compelling and their comedy is better (I think Corrie writers are better, more experienced) and more frequent than Eastenders...

I watched American soaps most of my life and there are still a couple i watch or follow regularly. They aren't as good as Corrie, however, none of them are. I did watch EE on BBC Canada for awhile but over the last year i haven't found it grabbing my interest and have left it a bit. It's a routine, see, BBC Canada shows the EE omnibus on Saturday mornings when there isn't a lot on telly besides kid shows and promotional programs. That's what got me into it but Corrie was and is always number 1.

I did when I lived with friends but now I literally only watch Corrie and Law and Order.

Same here; i loved brookie (ron dicko, jimmy, the jordaches) and it broke my heart when it went all stupid and then got axed. i don't know what phil redmond is/was playing at with bollyoaks. I love corrie because of the writing and i find almost all of the characters sympathetic. i watch EE occasionally, but i'm tired of the mitchells, i'd axe the whole family, esp phil. I think dot and bianca are the only really sympathetic characters in EE.

Only "Corrie" for me. I ditched "EastEnders" around 10 years ago. Watched "Brookside" until the late 90s when it went crappy. Also watched all 692 episodes of "Prisoner Cell Block H".

I ditched EE a couple of years back. I still know what's going on though, odd that. Corrie is my one and only, it surpasses all others in regards to acting and writing.

River City for me every time - I cannot stand Eastenders and have no idea why they keep winning awards. By the way the hairdressers in R.City are fab and deserve a website of their own - if there isn't one already.

I only watch Corrie, never tried to get into the other soaps.

Corrie's always been "the one" for me, personally. I have watched other soaps here and there in the past, American (Young and the Restless, Days of Our Lives) ones mostly, but none of kept my interest like Corrie!!! Corrie never feels to "soapy" to me. I know that sound silly - because it is. It just feels less "superficial" is that the word? Than other soaps to me.

I forgot to put - It's the writing that gives Corrie more "substance" than other soaps, IMHO

Only watch Corrie, and never miss an episode.

I started watching Emmerdale because it was on before Corrie a few days.

I love Corrie and about 2 years ago I stopped watching EastEnders. It just got too depressing for words. However I have to admit that Emmerdale has become really good.

I love watching Kim Thomson in it and also Kate Anthony in Corrie. I read somewhere that both actresses were really good friends as well. Did anyone else see this or know more about it?

Hope Aunty Pam sorts Ty and Mollie out by the way!

I watch Corrie, Emmerdale and Eastenders.

I have watched Corrie and Emmerdale pretty much all my life but started watching Eastenders about 3 years ago.. I can take it or leave it though. I sky + them all so I don't miss an episode.

I used to really enjoy Emmerdale but it is unavailable now in Canada. We also had access to older Eastenders for a couple of months but then it was taken off the air. So now I just enjoy Corrie!

I've watched Corrie all my life (except for a period in the mid 1990s when it became unwatchable) and also used to watch Eastenders religiously since it first started in 1985. However, I now only dip in and out of Eastenders and am no longer an avid viewer.

I also used to watch the Aussie soaps in the 1980s (Neighbours, Home and Away & Prisoner) when they were a big fad but have long since stopped being one of their viewers.

Corrie is now the only one I watch regularly together with some eps of Eastenders and also some bits & pieces from Hollyoaks.
