For those who don't watch Celebrity Big Brother, you may like to know that actress Stephanie Beacham has joined the show. Stephanie, you'll remember, played Martha Fraser, Ken Barlow's girlfriend who lived on the barge.Stephanie is the more, er, mature lady in the celebrity house and how she'll fare is anyone's guess. My money's on Sov.

Not sure what Stephanie Beacham is playing at, a classy lady lowering herself to this sort of crap. If she's that short of a bob or two, I'd love to see her back on her barge.
I heard her telling Vinnie Jones something about coming over here while some work was being done somewhere and she "may as well go in the Big Brother house as stay in a hotel".

How stuck up did she come across? Sitting there like royality, not even having the courtesy to get up when a new housemate came in and introduced themselves. She had the air of someone who finds it all beneath her so should be interesting. She does look fantastic though!
Fascinating...I've never watched these reality-type shows, but would that make this actress a "B" List celebrity? And if she survives or does well in the show (whatever that means) that means she gets a leg up at reviving her career?
Too bad there's so little work for mature actresses like her in show biz...I thought she was wonderful as Martha in Corrie -- I wouldn't mind her coming back and re-tempting Ken or perhaps becoming a rival to Audrey for Lewis's affections...
Ena's New Year Hairnet, Stephanie is classy enough to know that a lady does not rise when introduced to someone and, indeed, shakes hands sitting down... still, it's anyone's guess what she's doing in that pile of tosh! None of them seemed to have a clue who any of the others were - which placed them pretty much at the same disadvantage of the viweing public ;)
