Corrie Comicals week ending 26 June 2020
I know I am supposed to be picking out the fun so we will do this and then ignore Shona. Abi is waving her cup around very much as if she is collecting for a cause and Shona throws some coins in the mug. I accept Shona has mislaid her memory but that is not an excuse for playing some of the games we saw this week. She thinks of Clayton being what 10 years younger than he actually is? And yes she had him at an early age - so she has reverted to early adulthood - by which point behaviours and some idea of living in the world are fixed. This does not match with the portrayal we are seeing or some of the things portrayed - social inhibitions and understanding of ovens. It does not feel consistent or realistic.
And judging by the beach pictures from a few days ago the English nation is similarly enjoying a huge surge of relief, let us hope it is not misplaced. In this household the sigh of relief will come on 4 July when I am anticipating a haircut and it will be a huge relief to get this weight off my head. I am fed up with bushy eyebrows and hair sticking out all over the place!
Simon really liked the pigs he tells Amy and Emma - the latter agrees they were cute but Simon (hopefully is regaining his cheeky younger self) points out that they are just really, really tasty - a nice rejoinder as to what a city farm should be about - how does your food reach your plate!
The farm animals also know a nice bit of rump when they see it - a goat grabbed Tracy's bottom - apparently it was a four legged animal with these horrible pink little eyes, grinning. Steve asks her if she was goosed by a goat and she smiles at his joke.
Emma is telling Alina about the day at the petting zoo and the noise cows makes and asks what noise they make in Romania. Apparently they say the same thing but it is spelt differently.
Well she does have a point. Most of us have landlines these days mainly to get the broadband service delivered but very few calls of significance arrive. And those of Amy's age group have their phones superglued to their hands so by definition it is an old person phoning. Leanne whom I believe is on the other end of the line is 39 next month so might feel slightly annoyed at being classed as "old person"!
Which just about sums up this week.
