Catherine Tyldesley, who played Eva Price in Coronation Street, is joining Derren Litten's new comedy, Scarborough. Derren Litten is the creator of sitcom Benidorm.

Scarborough will follow the lives and loves of a handful of residents in the sometimes sunny beach resort in North Yorkshire. It also happens to be my favourite place in the country, so I'm very excited about this.
The Sun reports that Catherine has begun the script read-through for the sitcom and says she feels "extremely lucky and grateful" to be part of the cast. She will play the role of Karen in the six-part series, which is written and directed by Benidorm creator Derren Litten.
