Coronation Street Episode Review; Weds 10th April 7.30pm

Here is part one of Wednesday night's episode, wrapped up in a handy blog review.

There's no rest for the wicked as a debt-riddled Gary continues to thwart Rick's calls, whilst hiding the truth from Sarah. Craving more money to keep Rick quiet, Gary fools Mary into believing more work needs to be done on the roof of Number 3. In for penny, as they say...

Nick's enthusiasm for a new 'Underworld' at the community centre only enrages Imran, who continues to take his grief out on Toyah. As a pang of guilt hits Imran, he asks Alya to help him make a meal, as an apology. An ever accepting Toyah forgives quickly and understands Imran's fragility.

Carla's crushing mental health soars to a crescendo, as the factory roof collapse continues to propel the cobbles drama. Leaving answering messages for Rana, Carla's mental health is getting worryingly fractious and paranoid. Questioning Johnny and Kate, Peter is determined to find out who is behind the messages and Kate agrees to help - if only for Rana's memory. Outside Number 1, Kate vents her anger to Alya about Carla, until Alya admits that it was she who sent the anonymous threatening messages.

Gemma and Chesney's romance is reignited and the rampant twosome decides to book a holiday.
Booking a break in Portugal, Gemma isn't pleased with Chesney's proposition of holidaying with the Armstrongs. At the Rovers, Mary consoles Gemma and offers to help her out with a seaside day trip from the local paper. Although their Uncle Barry's caravan fails to be an option, brother Paul has another idea.

With Sinead due to complete her treatment, Daniel is looking forward to arranging a christening. As an academic, he is, of course, an atheist, but Sinead's family have more traditional ideas.

Heading home from Mary's, Gary is confronted by Rick who's paying Sarah and baby Harry an unexpected visit. Promising Sarah that he has a new job for Gary, the troubled builder is forced to accept more 'work' from the slippery conman, which means drumming up more illegal loans for the loan shark!!

That's all from me for this episode -I'm back soon with a review of the 8.30pm slot. See you in a bit.

Sinead's family would want a more traditional Christening? Sinead's family who weren't at the wedding and haven't been seen or heard from since she became ill? Seriously why would she care what they think. Beth her aunt certainly doesn't appear to be very religious.
