Final pics show sad state of old Corrie set

With thanks to Nick Franklin on Twitter @NickFrank2010) for sending these pictures to us.

Nick took these four pictures on Wednesday August 8 2018. They're of the old Granada TV studios where Coronation Street was filmed until ITV's move to Salford Quays. We've seen the gradual decay and decline of the old Corrie set over the months as the bulldozers moved in and cleared the site.  Well, now it's all done, with barely anything remaining of the old Corrie site.

Nick says that the site is now a car park and the land is about to built on to become residential town houses.

As for the cobbles? Yes, they were ripped up from the old set but they weren't thrown away. We were were given the first and only exclusive on what had happened to the old cobbles when we spoke to Continuum CEO Juliana Delaney in Glasgow some years ago.

Here's where the old cobbles ended up.
