You're the new Corrie producer - who would you bring back?

You're the new Coronation Street producer - who would you bring back?

Let's list our favourite five that we'd like to see return to the show.

In no particular order, here's my five. Let us know your five too!

1. Spider Nugent
Loveable eco-warrier or unwashed hippy? Whatever your stance on Spider, he's a unique Coronation Street character. There's been no-one like him before or since. And if he was brought back, he could tackle Toyah about those flowery blouses she's taken to wearing. Let's have him turn up at one of Toyah's vegan events and get him back on the Street.

2. Tricia Hopkins
The wonderful Kathy Jones, who played Tricia, should return to the show. Gail was brought in to Coronation Street as a friend for Tricia, the original Corrie dollybird. At a time when Corrie is suffering from not enough older, strong women, it's time surely for Tricia to return. She could right brighten up Gail's day.

3. Curly Watts
Kevin Kennedy, who played Curly Watts, has made no secret of the fact that he'd love to return to Coronation Street. Let's grant his wish, just for a fleeting visit to his old mate Kevin to console him about young Jack.

4. Stephen Reid
Audrey's son and Gail's half (or step?) brother Stephen is living and working in Milan.  Time to bring him back to cheer up the Platt clan, perhaps taking young David under his wing.

5. Andy McDonald

Steve's (non-identical) twin is living and working in Spain and is often mentioned. Time then to brign him back for a fleeting visit and perhaps a fling with Steve's fiancee Tracy Barlow, making Steve realise, before it's too late, that he really doesn't like Tracy all that much after all.

Who would be your top 5 characters to bring back to the show?
