Carla Connor's Christmas fling with another fella

Carla Connor might be getting engaged to Nick but she's set to have a seasonal snog and a festive fling with another fella.

Yes, forget Narla... it's Carobert! Or is it Robarla?

The front cover of the Christmas double issue of Inside Soap magazine reveal that Carla's going to have a fling with Robert Preston.

Now then, I like the sound of this because for me, Carla and Nick-Nack have absolutely zero chemistry between them.  Robert is much more the alpha male than Nick could ever hope to be and far more fitting, I think, to be with Carla.

Can't wait to see Tracy's face when she finds out!

Glenda! "Nick-Nack", oh my word you've got me laughing now. Hopefully everyone can take the incident on the chin and laugh it off. I'm liking Carla with Nick because it's low drama and I'd like to see some other characters have some airtime!

Carbert or Robla? lol

To be honest, I like the sound of this pairing too- even though I like Carla and Nick as a couple. I just hope it doesn't lead to another tedious pregnancy and a "who's the daddy?" plot.

Can't wait to see Tracy's face. It would be her worst nightmare if Robert actually dumped her for Carla. I would pay money to watch that!

I LOVE NICK & CARLA!!!!

Oh please, here we go again. Every freakin' person on this street is a cheater. Write something different for Pete's sake! They have to ruin every relationship. I am sick to death of it.

Carla is an intelligent woman so WHY would she go near any man of Tracy-Luvs!?! - Micky

I knew the stuff with Tracy worrying about Rob and Leanne was a red herring. Crafty writers!

I thought Nick was too much of a wimp for Carla in the beginning but I've started to love them together. At the same time though, I've been expecting it to go wrong as Carla is never allowed to be happy for long.

Robert isn't convincing with Tracy especially when you consider that he's meant to be the bloke who has never been able to get over her. I just don't see it.

I'd rather see him fall passionately in love with Carla. Just imagine Tracyluv's face!

I honestly cannot believe that the writers are sinking this low on Corrie St. So everybody has to be having a fling or snogging somebody else?? - please give me a break, are they really trying hard to compete with Hollyoaks and going after the younger crowd?? - seems like it - can't wait for the new producer to start in 2016 and at least bring back some dignity to the show. After all these years the cast and crew deserve a whole lot better than the rubbish they are putting out these days.

Good Lord, we don't need to see Carla snatch someone else's man. Again! What a lump of coal.

I like Nick and Carla, and Robert and Leanne are off to nice beginnings. Nick and Carla both broken but compatable. He's got brain damage and that family next door. She's got a drink problem and only 1 true non - family member friend, the man who tips all scales towards goodness, Mr. Roy Cropper. Plus it leads to wacky times at the Bistro - 2 friendly exes, owner and manager, him dating the woman who stole her other ex, the other fond of the chef, the murderer across the street's sorta ex. And if they aren't exes, the murderer sees Carla as the slag who destroyed her brother. Poor Steph, having to keep this all in check and Tracy unarmed.

Don't you think there's enough there already without Carla drinking too much, again, and ending up in the wrong bed, again?

Great just what we need. Another cheating storyline. Nick and Carla are a great couple and it's a shame that they have to go and destroy them. we already have a lot of drama coming up for her it seems. Not really any need to add unnecessary flings.

It sounds as though the writers are sabotaging one of their best characters Carla for the sake of a fling with Robert whom she's zero interaction with?A contrived sympathy ploy for Tracy after she let Carla take the blame for the fire.It also seems the writers don't know what to do with Robert.

Actually, this is kind of true to form for Carla. She like's other women's men (Liam, Peter, etc.) so why not? I am actually really excited about this story line.

I agree, I'm not even that keen on Carla and Nick so this is great news! I reckon Tracy will find out in May and will lead to carla's subsequental exit

I think it is true to Carla, she does get the wobblies a bit when it comes to committment, doesn't she? I'm sure this is meant to led to Alison King's departure. What I really hope they don't do is have Tracy's vendetta against Carla fire up again. That's getting old.

As far as people getting upset that it's yet another affair, that's pretty much the soap staple plot line. Happy Couples are boring couples.

Personally, I like seeing Carla with a bloke like Nick who evidently adores her. It makes a nice change seeing her in a good relationship for once.
I'm not even a fan of Nick though - in fact, I just found him incredibly dull before his relationship with Carla. But there is no denying that he's been good for her so I'm disappointed the writers are forcing her to cheat on him. Honestly, I was hoping for a good exit storyline for Carla because I think she deserves an exit like Becky's (and so do we as viewers) but clearly, that's asking for too much. Affairs and pregnancy plots is all TPTB seem to be able to come up with these days.

Robert and Carla? So random. If Carla was going to have a fling with anyone, it would surely be with someone like Peter (because of the insane passion they had) but Robert is quite similar to Nick! So I just don't believe Carla would go there.

Well, I'd say happy couples are boring couples - unless they are exceptionally and characterfully written. Sally & Tim aren't boring. Neither were Roy & Haley, Jack & Annie, Hilda & Stan or Mavis & Derek. Constant bed-hopping and infidelity feels so utterly lazy now.

Robert is similar to Nick crossed with that giant binman Carla pinched from Janice Battersby.
She seems so crazy about Nick, I can't realistically envisage her doing this so near to the proposal.

Agree with most of the above, it's very lazy plotting. I'm surprised to find that I like the Nick/ Carla relationship, the way they're so relaxed together and joke and tease each other, such a change from endless melodramas. Robert is certainly far too good for Tracy ( who isn't?) but I'd rather see him with Leanne. If Alison King really does intend to come back why can't "Carla" have another of her extended holidays, or maybe need to go away for medical treatment or to look after a sick friend? It wouldn't be the first time a character has suddenly gone to stay with a never - before-mentioned "best mate".

Carla has a bessie mate in LA (I forget her name)
