I've been enjoying the Ga'Andy storyline and now that the real Gavin is dead, there are more twists to anticipate. Given that it's a soap and secrets don't stay secret, it's only a matter of time before Michael finds out that Andy is not his real son.
The Mirror has a spoiler today gleaned from an interview with Les Dennis at the RTS Awards this week. It sounds very much like Michael is not going to take the news about his real son and the impostor plot very well, as you might expect.
‘If you found out that somebody had been pretending to be your son
and your wife had kept it from you, and that you didn’t have the chance
to go and see your own son, I think you’d be pretty livid.’
Adding: ‘I can imagine that this mild-mannered man we know as Michael Rodwell could be the one that turns.’
When Michael finds out Gail knew, will that split them up? Worse yet, with Michael still in the throes of a heart condition, this kind of shock could be fatal. Will Gail be a widow yet again?
It's going to hit the fan when the truth is revealed though there's no hint about when that will happen.

Oh, dear. He came in as bumbling but lovable incompetent, then became a moaning sad sack, and now he's going to go all Darth Vader on us. It's a shame because as he was originally played, Michael was an interesting, watchable fellow. Yes, he should be angry, for a bit, but he isn't Todd or Tracy, so I don't see him as a believable revenge machine. He should be mature enough to see why Andy started the joke but let it go on and Gail played along. Wouldn't it be ironic of Eileen is the one who makes him see sense?
Like all soap drama, this storyline could have been wrapped up by doing the obvious - telling Michael. Tbh, I've lost interest in this and want the ends tied up so we can move on to other stories.
When you see footage and photos of Les Dennis and co larking about on the set, I sometimes feel that the cast are having more fun than the audience. We get glimpses of LD's talent eg when he got drunk going round the pubs and there was some banter between him and David. We need more of this from LD. He's very experienced and should be used to the full.
I would also like to see this storyline wrapped up sooner rather than later as it's gone too long and is bringing the show down.I am not looking forward to Gail the martyr though.
Have never liked Michael from the beginning. I hope Gail does not marry him if she does she will regret it. Time the truth be told and hopefully that will be the end of him!
Each one of Gail's 5 husbands certainly have had 'interesting' personalities...all very different from one another. My favourite was probably Martin...
Anyway...I hope for Gail's sake, her new hubbe's ticker keeps ticking for awhile!
Abandon hope all ye who enter into marriage with the mournful Gail, the proverbial black widow.
The man was doomed as soon as Gail set her sights on him;)
Everything to do with the Platt's now is ridiculous, though somewhat entertaining. Les Dennis' portrayal of Michael can be quite hilarious (though it's more an acting thing than the actual writing). What sucks the most though is the real Gavin is dead now. I think they've lost something there, Mark Holgate had a real air of menace about him, something that is lacking in wannabe tough guy Callum.
Good heavens, will we see Michael try to kill Gail or her son(s) in some sort of revenge... How droll.
Frosty agrees with abbeyk. Michal came in as a good character even though he was supposed to be a burglar and desperate for money that he suddenly seems to have plenty of now, even with just a few shifts at the cab office. He actually improved Gail I thought who is an extremely irritating character. But he suddenly became a negative moaning self obsessed wet blanket. Now is he going to become yet another Tricky Dicky seriel killer? It would be a shame to ruin yet another character as I actually quite like Les Dennis and it must be a coup for him getting a role in Corrie.
personality transplant number 17 since Sturart Blackburn has come on to ruin the show.
At this rate, the Platt clan is taking over the show and too much is too much! Hope the writers remember there are other characters in need of a good story line because I may give CS a pass for a while. L.
