Corrie wedding bells for Gail and Michael?
Is it going to be "six times lucky" for Gail? The Daily Star is reporting that Michael is going to propose to Gail and she'll say yes. Whether they actually get to say I Do is another matter. The report says they'll wonder if they can make a go of it after a "whirlwind" romance. It's a bit suspect since almost a year together by that time is hardly whirlwind but you know, they throw these words around like grit on an icy pavement!
Even if the story is more or less made up, it's probably an educated guess. Where else would this be going, after all? And to tell you the truth, I think, all things being more or less equal, Michael could very well be the man for Gail.
I quite like them together and I think they're well suited. For once, Gail has a really nice man who doesn't seem to have an agenda. The burglary? He was desperate, not a career criminal and he didn't actually take anything so is only guilty of break and enter. I wish people wouldn't keep saying he burgled their house! He was very sorry, and all.
Soaps being what they are, if they do get married, it might not stick for any number of reasons, his heart condition topping the list but I hope they can fix it and Gail and Michael can have a few good years together. We do actually have a few happy couples on the show these days, an unusual number of them for a soap. (Ches and Sinead, Tyrone and Fiz, Kirk and Beth, Sally and Tim, Eva and Jason) I'm not counting Tony and Liz because there's a bumpy road ahead for them nor am I counting Owen and Anna who won't last as Ian P-D is leaving.
So go on, Michael, make an honest woman of RGail. You know you want to! At least Steve won't be alone in the six-wedding club!

As to the break & enter, I don't know how he ever made the decision to do it. If they get married, I suspect the proposal will have to come from Gail. Even Mavis wasn't as dithery and unable to make a decision as our Michael. I find him a bit of a wet lettuce.
Lol yes he is a bit indecisive, isn't he? Gail tends to want to wear the pants in the family, though, so i think it would work out ok!
He was decisive enough to walk away from his son. I'd like to hear what that was about.
Anon, I agree with you completely. I don't think much of anyone who deserts their child.
bbhilda, I also find Michael to be a bit of a wet lettuce.
I don't know, something shifty about him, maybe I am wrong..
Maybe Michael was chased away from Gavin by his bitter, smothering mother. We don't know the back story and it will be a good one if and when it unfolds.
If he was the same wimpish person then as he is now, she probably told him to stay away and he did. He seems incapable of standing up for himself, especially when it comes to women.
