and Marcus bonds with Kirk!
KIRK! Where on earth has Kirk been these past few months? Has the actor had time off due to illness or to fulfill other short term contracts like Lloyd's Craig Charles?
Maria said the other day that he was visiting their parents in Portugal or wherever it is they live.
In real life, he's maybe been away on the Dancing on Ice tour???
It's nice to see Maria, Kirk and Marcus, characters who've been in the background for awhile, get together to start brewing their own story. I'm so thankful Peter is going away for awhile; I found myself actually hoping he'd be found in the morgue, such a prat! I've also found myself hoping that Kirsty would have a terrible accident and/or it becomes known that her baby is not Tyrone's, so he can free himself up to start something up with Fiz. Funny, I've noticed no one ha ever commented about Eileen and Sean - they've had some very emotional moments during their time living under the same roof and no, she hasn't gushed about how great Sean is ('cause he ain't) but why has no one ever speculated that Sean would develop something for Eileen the same way so many have speculated that Marcus will developed something for Maria?
Anon @ "..but why has no one ever speculated that Sean would develop something for Eileen..."
- Answer: Because he already has, and she already has!
There is no landlady/tenant relationship between them anymore. Instead it's morphed into one almost akin to that of say, a visiting favourite nephew and sympathetic, caring, auntie relationship.
Or even, maybe, almost that of an elder son/encouraging mother relationship, depending on your viewpoint.
The fact that Sean is gay is virtually of no consequence to the pairing. So the 'develop feelings for' is not of the delusional/romantic kind you're alluding to, but 'familial' if that's the right word.
- However, a landlady/tenant relationship it certainly ain't! They're both sympathetic to and understanding of each other's emotions and love life's, in it right up to their armpits, and by anyone's definition, that's not the usual landlady/tenant fare.
Yes - familial! Their feelings towards each other have developed into that of a close familial relationship.
