In tribute to what would have been Freddie Mercury's 65th birthday today, here's a little Freddie-Corrie crossover picture.
As far as I can remember, the Coronation Street lads dragged up in an homage to Queen's I Want To Break Free video for Children in Need - is my memory right? The video used to be on YouTube but has mysteriously disappeared, shame. And can you name the Corrie lads who played each of the Queen band members, pictured here?

I recognize Sean in the white nightie, Tyrone reading the newspaper and Kevin in the blonde wig. But the fellow in pink has me stumped! Could it be Ciaran?
And of the course the original Queen video is a brilliant homage to Corrie.
It's fun to work out which Corrie matriarchs they've based their costumes on. According to Wikipedia, Freddie is Bet Lynch. Brian May is (clearly) Hilda. John Deacon is Ena Sharples.
And Roger Taylor is (apparently) Suzie Birchall
Les Battersby as Freddie, isn't it?
Yes that looks like Les/Bruce Jones. Must have been Children in Need. It was never on Corrie itself!
Tyrone, Sean, Les and Kevin :)
I thought of this when Sally mused the other day about what Kevin would look like if he dragged up - "fish-net stockings and loads of red nylon ..."
great post, but i think someone's slightly missed the point that the biggest Corrie/Freddie crossover IS the vid for I Want To Break Free. One of the best, most loving Corrie homages ever.
left to right.......
front row: Sean and Tyrone
back row: Steve and Kevin
No, Karin F, as stated above, the 'Freddie' in pink is Les Battersby. He who, we now know, is "in Eastern Europe" ...!?!
I think the one in the pink is the fellow who used to date Eileen Grimshaw. He had a cowboy act at children's parties.
