When Coronation Street’s Katherine Kelly leaves the cobbles later this year as Becky McDonald, she'll star in a play at the National Theatre in London.
Katherine will join Oliver Goldsmith’s comedy She Stoops To Conquer at London’s National Theatre next year. Acting onstage beside her will be Steve Pemberton, from The League of Gentlemen and Benidorm.
It's not the first time Katherine has appeared on stage. She's RADA trained and her previous stage credits include The Accrington Pals at Chichester Festival Theatre, Othello at the Manchester Royal Exchange and Tamar's Revenge, House of Desires, Pedro, The Great Pretender and The Dog in the Manger for the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Im sure Katherine will do really well and I will certainly go and see her.
I am also going to see Kate Anthony (Aunty Pam) and several other older Corrie actors in a new play in Manchester's Lowry Theatre next week, called All The Way Home, but I see no coverage of it on this great blog.
Are other Corrie actors in theatre at the moment?
Alison
She is such a brilliant actor. I'll miss Becky on Corrie...too bad the writers had to ruin her character before she left.
Aye, she's a very talented lass is our Katherine. I'm sure she will miss the fun of playing "Barnsley Becky", as will the viewers.
Hi Alison,
All The Way Home is on at the Lowry opening 29th Sept and running for 3 weeks. There's a smorgasbord of ex Corrie people in it as it's set in Salford and they've gone for lots of local actors.
