Sacha Parkinson, who plays Sian Powers, told BANG Showbiz (who they?) that there's going to be a wedding for Sophie and Sian on Corrie after Sophie proposes to Sian out of guilty feelings she has for Amber.
Sacha said: "We've been told it's going to be a nice glamorous proper wedding. Me and Brooke match all the time so maybe they should [have matching dresses]. You know what Brooke's like she'll want something absolutely massive like off My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding!"
Whether the wedding will go ahead or not, who can say although my guess is that it won't, as Sacha is leaving the Street in early 2012.

I guess ITV is going for the publicity on this one because if Sian is leaving the show, what's the point of the wedding?
If Corrie is trying to promote gay marriage the same as straight marriage then these two should be given time to save up, find a place, get a bit of stability so that we can see this relationship through. Make it real and don't sensationalise it, this is what gets the Guardian columnists out on their high horses and then we wonder why. Not any excuse for Sally to get her fascinator out, let's get a big dress a big cake and wahay and grab the headlines .... If soaps are meant to border on reality (cough) then they are so young, give them time. Granada would have been better with Sean and Marcus, I can actually see those two settling down together, not trying to shock us with Sian and Sophie and turning it into My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding. Keep it real.
But hey, this is soap land and this relationship isn't meant to last or we wouldn't have storylines in six months time would we?
This PC tosh with the dullest pair of dullards in Dulldom is enough to put your off your Xmas turkey!
I agree 100% with Beths comments. It's a backwards step for the authenticity of gay marriage.
Agree with Frosty.
If you don't like it, don't watch it!
