This week we met Kirsty, the woman that's going to be Tyrone's new love. Natalie Gumede is playing her and so far, I think I like her. She is confident and forward and that seems to be the type Tyrone goes for. On first glance, you might think she's a Cheryl Gray clone, with those long legs and all that hair but I think Kirsty is going to be a bit more sparky than Cheryl.
Natalie was born in Burnley and grew up in Colne in the Pendle area. She has been interested in the theatre since she was a child and performed in a local youth theatre, the Pendle Hippodrome Youth Theatre as well as in other Pendle theatres.
You can read a bit more about here here. She's also appeared in a number of television roles since graduating from the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London. Her IMDB information is here and she's got her own website. She's got a blog on the site and wrote about her debut on Corrie. She says that "It thankfully wasn't too painful to watch". She thinks that watching your performances, especially when starting something new, is beneficial even if you're uncomfortable watching yourself on screen. You can follow her on Twitter here.
What were your first impressions of Kirsty?

She seems to be a much better actress than the woman who plays Cheryl at any rate!
What is it with Corrie only allowing one mixed-race actress at a time? Cheryl came in more or less as Kelly quit the show. Kirsty enters as Cheryl is leaving.
Whoa, she has only been in it for a couple of minutes, give it a chance for us to make our minds up on the character.
The way i look at it, first impressions can make a difference. If i've got a positive one, that's good. If it's negative, i'll still wait and see if they grow on me because often they do.
A single episode isn't much to go on, but she certainly showed more personality in that single episode than Cheryl has in the year and a half she's been on the show! Promising beginning - let us see if she lives up to that promise.
It depends on how the character and her relationship with Tyrone develop. At the moment, Kirsty appears to have a lot of potential and has a likeable feisty edge to her.
Shanny said: Personally I don't like her character. I think Tyrone and Tina should get together. Even though Kirsty and Tyrone are together at the moment and so are are the Doctor and Tina, I can see that Tyrone and Tina will be together down the road. I just have that feeling. I think underneath Tyrone and Tina have feelings for each other, they are just distracted with other lovers at the moment. :) Tina reminds me of Vera, feisty and all that. Kirsty is too controlled and not his type at all.
I think that Kirsty is a bit of a bunny boiler, she wants Tyrone all to herself and for him to have no friends she's also very controlling and a bit spiteful.
Do not like her character at all. Tyrone deserves much better
