When Freddie Mercury was on Coronation Street

In tribute to what would have been Freddie Mercury's 65th birthday today, here's a little Freddie-Corrie crossover picture. 

As far as I can remember, the Coronation Street lads dragged up in an homage to Queen's I Want To Break Free video for Children in Need - is my memory right?  The video used to be on YouTube but has mysteriously disappeared, shame.  And can you name the Corrie lads who played each of the Queen band members, pictured here?

There's been a running discussion on the blog this week about Coronation Street men in drag.

There's some wonderful pictures here of some of the lads on a drag night in the Rovers, including Norris' fab turn as Eartha Kitt.

Corrie's had real-life drag queens on screen too. And did you know that the grandson of Bernard Youens, who played Corrie's Stanley Ogden - is an award-winning drag artist in Spain?
