This leads me to ask... Will Maria find love with someone new or with someone she already knows? She's had previous with Jason Grimshaw, Tyrone Dobbs and Nick Tilsley, could any of them figure in another go around? She also had a brief thing with Peter Barlow but I don't see that coming around again.
She's grown up a lot since she was with either of those men though she still can't seem to be successful in love. Husband Liam loved another and was subsequently killed and her most recent love, Chris, has a brain tumour and wants to get back with his ex-wife, Cheryl. There's really nobody on the street that I can see her with if it's not a second or third time with one of the above mentioned fellas. Would she go toe to toe with Tracy over Steve? Would she take Dr. Spare Part away from Tina? Then there's the Devster, he was always a ladies' man before he married Sunita, could he fall off the fidelity wagon?
No, I think it has to be someone new. What do you think?

I think Maria and Tyrone would still be a nice match but I doubt it's going to happen
As with Anthony Cotton, isnt this old news? Sorry but I think Maria is a pretty pointless character that has outstayed their welcome, pretty girl but just gormless and nowhere else to go.
Good, I Maria and samia smith is an excellent actress! I would love to see a Maria/Tyrone reunion! Looking forward to maria's up coming story lines!
It'd be nice to see a story for Marie that *doesn't* involve a man! She's grown up quite a bit over the past few years.. maybe she could show some career ambition?
I reckon it'll be Lloyd, helping him getting over Cheryl, when she leaves? Only problem with that though is they are both too nice, so hard to see what drama the writers could come up with for the two of them together.
She's going to get together with Dishy Dr. Carter after her wee guy falls ill and he makes an emergency home visit whereby Maria, instantly smitten will fall in like with him...but...he has a sordid past that hasn't come to light yet...and it will because Carla's confession to him of her rape and how horrible it was left him very uncomfortable..squirming in his chair. I think he was probably sued by an ex patient who claimed he sexually harrassed her!!!Maria, I'm afraid will have yet more heartbreak ahead. TG they got rid of the Chris character et al.
I too wish she would get ambition and retrain for something - at the very least do a retail course and open a new shop.
She's a good little actress who's not been given a lot to do. Show some imagination and extend her beyond love-object storylines.
I would love to see her back with Tyrone, but I can't see that happening any time soon. I do agree with the comments about her showing some ambition, but then look what happened last time she tried a new job...I think she's in her comfort zone at Audrey's. And I do really like Maria, she's such a nice girl these days.
Wow, first Antony Cotton, now her. All I can say is that if she gets together with Dev, I'll shoot myself.
How tiresome - of course it would involve a man. With Maria it always does. I can't remember a story with her when it doesn't can you?
