Back in January, the gentleman rapper Mr Snoop Dogg was reported as saying he'd love a part on Coronation Street (wouldn't we all?).
And the rumour mill's gone overtime again as the story gets repeated ad nauseum in the press and online once more. Even the Guardian's picked it up. Well, just remember where you read it first - six flippin' months ago.
Maybe he could work in the chippy so that when people came in and asked for fish and chips, he could ask them if they'd like them, er, (w)rapped.

... "(w)rapped" ... priceless! LOL!
I am not sure who Mr Doggie is. He looks like a pimp or drug dealer. Is he really like this or does he just sing songs about gangsters and such.
Oh please...keep Mr. Snoopy or Doggy or whoever this guy is in his world...he can watch like the rest of us, but puleez let's keep rap/gangsta-style music and all its baggage out of the Cobbles...
He would be playing a character, not himself. As for Snoop, though not a fan, I have seen him on Letterman and he is doing lots of good work with children along with his own kids. He seem s a nice guy really, more mature than the old days.
Who knew he's been a Corrie fan for 11 years! Wonder how he gets it since he lives in the states.
He would make a great cabbie at StreetCars!
Would you get into a cab with him inside?
if he was dressed as a cab driver for a part in Coronation Street, say Lloyd style, why wouldn't anyone get into a cab with him?
I once got into a cab with someone who looked exactly like Osama Bin Laden. And I survived! Imagine that. He was very friendly and a good driver. Never judge a book by it's cover.
Maybe one wouldn't mind getting into a cab with someone like him, provided one was not aware of his background. Former member of the Cripps a murderous US street gang, arrested on at least two separate occasions for possession of illegal firearms and drugs, and of course a charge of murder when his bodyguard shot and killed a rival gang member from the car they were both in (although he was acquitted he is still in deep trouble with this one). WELL I can tell you that if I knew that this was the background of my cab driver, I would get out and walk. Sounds a real sweetheart doesn't he.
Sure one can judge a book by its cover. Sometimes that is the only way. If one waddles and quacks, the chances are one is a duck. If someone chooses to dress, look and talk like a gangsta it is reasonable to assume that he is one.
Apparently you can teach an old "Snoop" dog new tricks because someone on here says he has changed his ways with maturity...he has loved Corrie for 11 years and would like to be in it, like many, many other stars have and have been; goodn'uff.
I'd love to see him on Corrie. In fact I wish they'd hired him to play the new doctor instead of the "hunky young" Liam lite one.
You know, I'm glad you said that seapenguin.
I was thinking about what kind of ( already existing) character Snoop Dogg would be interesting to play, and I forgot about the new doctor coming to the cobbles.
I'm sorry, but for some reason this new 'face' of the doctor looks ho-hum typical 'eye candy' and that doesn't do it for me anymore!
Sure he sings, if one can use that term, gangsta stuff. But how does that qualify him to act in a drama.....maybe I have got it wrong and he went to RADA like other greats before him.
If he wer to act would the credits just show him as 'Snoopy Dog', or whatever he calls himself, or would he be shown under his real name.
Some people have said that they would like to have him on Corrie. So I watched a few U-tubes to see what he was like. To be frank, he can hardly speak English as we know it, and most of us would have real difficulty in understanding his gangsta style semi-literate way of talking. As far as grammar is concerned it is non existent.
