John Stape - miles better than expected

Fiz says she'll stand by her man, but will she? Should she? I say, run for the hills while you still can!

I must admit I had my doubts about this Fishwick storyline, thinking it was just another tired "body under the patio" scenario, and I was sure it would leave Coronation Street's John Stape nowhere to go but to a maximum secure unit at HMP.
However, it's not really turning out like that - John seems to be handling the whole thing with total aplomb and has got me convinced he can get away with murder - and everything else. It's a totally over the top plot, but I'm really enjoying the ride - John's turned into Ken Barlow on crack (not that I've ever tried crack, nor do I intend to - and apologies to any reader who has and is offended). Last two nights he's been pretending to be a furniture salesman - and getting away with it (with the Windasses playing a blinder as usual). But that's tame stuff for our John. Next few episodes the plot really hots up - he's going to be punched in the mush by an angry cuckold, blackmailed by the toothsome Charlotte, determined to get her mitts on his "meat and two veg", and to crown it all, he does away with the ghastly Fishwick! I cannot wait! In fact - why not "do" Charlotte while you're at it - plenty of room in the foundations of Underworld (although better be quick before Izzy's dad starts putting in that new flooring...)

I really enjoyed his stint as the furniture sales man too, it's been fun to watch.

While i hate, hate, hate, John Stape, i do agree this is a good storyline but i'll be bitterly disappointed if he isn't banged up in prison for it.

Charlotte was obviously just after a roll in the hay.
Hey there could be worse things than that. Methinks he should have obliged her sooner.
Stape is a total loser. Poor Fiz deserves much better.

John Stape has paid his dues - gone to jail, paid/made amends to a sleazy slapper lke Rosie ...why such hate for him? And even this identity theft isn't the usual identity theft where he's stealing money from someone else who's entitled to it? I'd say, he's on higher moral ground than say the Windasses who actually are responsible for the death of Joe MacIntyre when they first didn't pay for his services -- thus plunging him into financial crisis... then there's Carla who just couldn't put her hands off that idiot Liam even when he was already married to that dolt Maria -- she's at least culpable as a vengeful Tony then plotted Liam's death...

What? Stape does away with the real Fishwick? Well...then I agree...he may as well finish the job and bump off the irritating, most annoying Charlotte! Like you say -- there's plenty of room underneath Underworld. Now...timing is everything...bah...ha ha hah ha
X-)!!!!

i still think its a shame theyre giving john this story- hes bound to be caught one day which will mean heartache for fiz once again

why cant they be left alone

Oh gab, I know what you're feeling but it's a soap and it's Corrie --- Purgatory...being left alone means being uninteresting...kinda like the Peacocks --bland, the actors portraying them ready for sacking...
