Blanche Hunt to get on-screen send off

Coronation Street producer Kim Crowther was on This Morning this afternoon (oh the joys of daytime TV) and revealed that Blanche Hunt will be receiving a proper farewell from Coronation Street with an on-screen funeral. She also revealed, as we suspected, that her grand-daughter Tracy will be there.

In further news, Tracy will will be unnerved by Becky's relationship with Amy and will start plotting her interference in Becky and Steve's marriage, which is already a little rocky. It appears however, that they'll be getting over their current problems as they start to look into the possibility of adoption.
Tracy will also be involved, while still behind bars, with another regular character. Could this be Gail who will be accused of Joe's murder? We'll have to wait and see.
Finally, Tony Gordon will be returning in the spring for 'a very explosive week'.
You can watch the full video online at the official Corrie site.

I guess Tracy would have to be involved with Gail since she would be in a women's facility. Doesn't seem likely that the pair would actually be "friends" though.

Tony returns? Let's see, he already pleads guilty so there wouldn't be any trial. perhaps something to do with Maria's return or Jimmy's trial or both?

Could someone as fragile as Gail cope in prison? Although happy to see Tracyluv out for a cameo, I wouldnt want to see her back full time and how can she come out after only 2 years, and causing trouble with Steve's marragaine again? Did exactly the same thing with Karen. I am not keen on Kate Ford as Tracy either, just grins like the Joker all the time. We shall see!

I think the fact Kim crowther said it was going to be an explosive sotyrline with Tony added to the fact the set is moving - could Tony be blowing the place up????

I'm so pleased to hear that Tony will be back in the spring. Kim did say that he would be back on the Street, but I don't know how that's possible unless he escapes from jail! I hope Maria is back in time for his explosive week.

Ohhh, I was predicting/guessing adoption for Steve-Becky and for Tony's return, a jailbreak! Wonderful! It's time we got some recompense for slogging through that horrible Molvin plotline for nearly a year! And yes, Blanche deserves the best possible send-off! Please Corrie writers do not let us down!

Quite in order. Great character, cracking actress. Blanche loved a good funeral, so hers should be full of morbid old crones just like her, mourning someone they've never met and tucking in at her wake afterwards. R.I.P.

I am of the same opinion as with Waltzing Matilda up there.

Blanche deserves a good ham at her funeral and I don't mean Ken Barlow (sidesplitter!) I'm sure she'll get a terrific send-off.
The more Tracey interferes with Backey and Steve's marriage, the better, as as far as I'm concerned.
