Michael admitted he had taken the drug while at his ‘lowest ebb’ when he was on trial for 12 sex abuse charges at Manchester Crown Court.
He said: “I had never felt so low. I knew I was innocent but everything was closing in on me. The first time I ever did cocaine was in the lead up to my trial. I never thought that I was the sort of bloke who would like cocaine. But it was moments of weakness when I was at the lowest ebb of my life. For a brief few minutes the first time was a relief from everything that was going on."
An ITV spokesman for the show confirmed: “We will be meeting with Michael on Monday to discuss this situation.”

I doubt he will fired for this offence (if its true) but he's lucky he didn't make a rap song about it cos then he'd really be in trouble
Oh for goodness sake just get rid of this character - I read that the first thing Kevin does when he returns is start a fight! We need to move forward with fresh characters not rehash old ones. Thanks for listening.
Chris F got sacked for being a stupid kid. What's MLV's excuse? Because he's well known and been around for ever? He is a non-issue now-time for him to retire. IMO.
Dave, I completely agree with you! I have liked the character and haven't missed whatsoever. Time for him to go.
He's probably hoping they will fire him and then he will take them to court for a huge sum of money for unfair dismissal.
The character hasn't changed, all he does is lust after Sally while carrying on with anyone that will let him get close enough and continually fighting with anyone that looks at him sideways.
He was jailed for his attack on John Stape, he burst into Michelle's flat and assaulted Ryan and neither Michelle or Ryan called in the police or he would have been back in jail, if he comes back and assaults Tim I suppose nothing will be done again.
The character hasn't added anything to the show in years yet they keep him on while more talented actors get their walking papers time he left and took SfB the producer with him.
Anonymous 11:52 I agree, I personally think they wanted rid of Tommy Duckworth and used the excuse of Chris Fountain's rap to fire him (even though the video was made over a year before it was exposed). If any other actors who have been in it less than a few years spouted this to the papers they would be axed. If Mr. Le Vell has a drug problem why tell this to the papers, discuss it with the Corrie producers.
As others have said, I do not look forward to Kevin's return. Sally has been great and Tim is a breath of fresh air. I really hope he isn't written out, what a waste.
For me, I could well do without the return of Kevin.
I've never liked him, and haven't missed him.
I too like Sally with Tim, he's still just on the edge, but also with more screen time, seems to be coming more suitable to Sally, or she to him, not sure.
Anyway, I just know they'll throw Kevin back in the three-way circus ring, and it's been done to death already.
Tim took a long time to settle but now has a definite identity, mainly because he took up window-cleaning. We see him as aimless but likeable and he works well with Sally. Where does Kevin fit in on the Street? They haven't even missed him in the garage. We've never seen Tyrone on the phone to him discussing business. We haven't heard about him for months and back he comes with an explosive storyline. Not happy.
Agreed that they should have just let this character fade away. Unless his return is a storyline to escort Sophie off our screens.
I think Tim's becoming a more likeable or at least a more steady character is so that it will seem more 'real' when Kevin 'gets back' and can rant and rave, plan and scheme, to win Sally back.
Honestly, some characters have a teflon coating.
