However, if you read down to the end of the article there's an official quote from a Coronation Street spokesman saying: "Katherine Kelly is committed to Coronation Street to the end of 2011. It would be premature to discuss the departure of any actor when they still have almost 12 months to go on their contract." Indeed.
Mind you, it's not the first time this story's done the rounds on t'internet and as they say, there's no smoke without fire, so perhaps she will leave when her contract expires. Who knows?

The paper press, after being gorged on Corriemania for a month are now finding the tap switched off and are now scrabbling around for something to write to keep the Corrie fans reading.

"Katherine Kelly to stay in Corrie for another 12 months" -- drat, am so tired of Becky.
I think there's a good chance she will leave when her contract finishes though. Personally, I hope she does as I loathe Becky.
Becky and Katherine Kelly fan here. I like her struggle to pull herself up, against the odds. And anyone who could be so loved by Roy and Hayley, well...
I am tired of Becky but that is the fault of the writers and production team who need to have her in almost every scene. How ridiculous is the "Maxay" story as well. Katherine Kelly was intereviewed on Alan Titmarsh on Friday and didnt mention anything about leaving, the contrary actually and what a lovely looking well spoken woman she is!!!
I hope Katherine Kelly aka "Becky" doesn't leave corrie, i will be absolutely gutted if she does. She is the best actress on the street or one of the best. I will be highly dissapointed if she does go and she will be missed loots!. Defoo my fav character on the cobbles, well done katherine and keep upp the good work :)
she has not renewed her contract so i think she may be off in october 2011 but the writers will probably try and get her to stay till christmas 2011 in a dramtic story line
