The fab Inside Soap magazine reveals today that Steve and Becky are going to have to quit the fags and give up smoking.I'm guessing it'll have something to do with their plan to adopt as we've already seen a nicotine patch on Becky's arm on Coronation Street.

I noticed those nicotine patches the other day and I thought they were quite amusing. I immediately thought of Patsy (from Ab Fab) and the twenty patches she was wearing in one of the episodes. Good luck to Steve and Becky on giving up, they must both be on 40 a day. Think of all the MONEY they would save!
I remember that episode of Ab Fab well! A classic... and her shock that she couldn't smoke everywhere she wanted to in NYC!
All of that smoking is unfortunately pretty realistic (it's certainly not glamorous)... but it would cost them a fortune!

Then lucky they OWN the pub because if they had to pay for their drinks as well as their smokes, they'd be bankrupt or close to bankrupt and neither of them could afford their bacon butties at Roy's Rolls!!!
Show Becky this pic and she might not need a patch after all!
I understand that the actress who plays Becky doesnt even smoke and uses special herbal cigs that just make smoke. Why they have to have a non smoking actress smoke I dont know, perhaps they think it makes her look more rough and common.
It would be difficult to imagine a non-smoking "Becky" with her background.
Glad to hear that the actress herself doesn't indulge.
The photos seen lately of Helen Flanagan do indeed make her look 'common'. IMO.
In real life people like Becky and Rosie are smokers. Prety sad, but that's the way it is.
In Helen Flanagan's/'Rosie's' case then, it's Life imitating Art; sad, yes.
It's true Katherine Kelly is a non-smoker, but the decision to make Becky a chain-smoker was hers; a character choice, one of the little traits actors use to define their characterisation. She bases it on her dad.
The crew hate is as they all go home stinking of those herbal things.
I agree with earlier comment. I would bet that sluts like Rosie and no-hoper welfare cases like Becky are 99.99% smokers in real life
