Look at the face on Eileen, does this woman ever look happy about anything? No wonder Tony prefers Liz!
At the moment, I can't think of any of the women in the current cast holding a candle or even a matchstick to the likes of Ena, Elsie, Hilda, Bet, Annie, or Blanche. It's all so sad -- the state of the show which used to have such wonderful, colorful women characters.
Eileen at the best of times looks like she belongs in a ring ready to battle a lady wrestler. Liz looks like she's ready to pop out of whatever outfit she's wearing and land into a cup of modesty. Sally needs to push into beyond that mirror of hers and get some insight -- finally. Dierdre needs to go further and get a life -- her third chapter beyond Ken and Tracy. Gail always looks like she's facing a crisis -- her sourpuss chinless face used to be bearable but no more. I can go on but it's making me even more depressed. The bad writing is of no help to the actors' performances.
Well I am not digging the pairing of Liz and Tony. They are so NOT suited. He is cool, good looking and happening....and she looks like an old slapper with a 70's Country singer hairdo. Let's get real.
And greasy Madd-ehhhh surprising Sloppie with a kiss makes me want to puke. Worst storyline EVER!Why waste airtime with these two? They are just not interesting at all. It sincerely boggles my mind that a bunch of people sat around a table and thought this would be good or interesting. Neither of them are convincing as lesbians...it is so forced and groanworthy. I feel like I am watching a crappy high school PSA or something.
It's just horrible.
It just goes to show you what great actors they have on Corrie. None of them are remotely like their counter parts. BTW..the 'chinless' comment towards Helen W. was childish.
