Marcus and Maria in bed together

There's a good interview in The Radio Times about why Marcus and Maria end up in bed together. In Bed! Together!  Marcus and Maria!

Charlie Condou, who plays Marcus on Coronation Street says this about the public reaction to Marcus' relationship with Maria: “The response I’ve had on Twitter has been great. It seems that the public has been willing Marcus and Maria to get together. A lot of people seem to prefer Marcus and Maria together rather than Marcus and Sean, which is interesting and very unexpected. There is a lot of interest from the viewers about where this going.”

Well, there's no interest from this fan. I'd much rather have Marcus back with Sean but what do I know?

Charlie says: “The whole situation is going to get a whole lot worse before it gets any better. There is a long way to go with this story.”

Oh no.

Marcus and Sean?? Are you mad??! This is actually the most interesting thing that's been on the show in ages, particularly because of the emotional/character driven elements of it. I don't for a minute believe it will turn into anything long-term but I'd rather see Marcus with anyone other than the panto, poor acting that is Sean.

Frosty totally concurs! What would a nice decent bloke like Marcussee in the self obsessed middle aged arm folding drama queen that is Sean? Their relationship is over, dead in the water anyhow.

Sean might have been adorable at one time but he has become one-dimensional and boring. Very similar to Kate Ford/Tracy in that both actors are weak and their characters haven't been developed in the last eight or so years. I'm interested to see where this story goes and how Maria is changed by the situation.

And Jason loses yet another woman. Not lucky, is he?

I'm glad Aiden is getting dumped. He's weird. But Marcus and Sean? Oh God, no. Writers turned Sean into an over-the-top drama queen.

It'll be interesting to watch where Marcus and Maria go ... their friendship isn't likely to survive intact after jumping into bed.

A major mistake..unless it is going to be spelled out that Marcus is bi-sexual and not gay. I have had many very close female friends, but have never had the desire to jump in the bed with them.

This just isn't realistic to me..no matter how good the acting.

Well it probably won't be a lasting thing, maybe more of an itch that needs scratching.......but just because it hasn't been your own personal experience doesn't mean it's unrealistic!!

As it's been said before, I feel it's more of an attraction for a person than a gender.

Oh Flaming Nora - Marcus and Sean - Oh God NO!!! Agree, Sean is an annoying, whiney, child-like ninny and no where in Marcus' league I'm sorry to say - glad Aiden is on the way out - way too weird. Loving the Marcus/Maria story!

Please, please, please NO to Marcus and Sean! I agree with Anon at the top, that the emotional/character driven elements of the story are very interesting and relavant. Maria and Marcus are decent characters (human beings) who will work things out as they should be -- I think both will move on to a loving relationship of their own.
