Why I love Kirk

All to often I hear people on forums talk about how Kirk is useless, and needs to be axed. I disagree, I love 'Kirkeh', sure he doesn't really have any storylines, but does he need to? He's a loveable loser, and he always has a smile on his face. He's not a bad person in any way, in fact, he's probably the closest thing to a real life person the street has.

Corrie does well with characters like Kirk, you can have your serial killers, and you can have your explosions, but they'd be nothing without the secondary characters, the Julies and the Kirkys. Long live Kirk!

He was great in tonights episodes! Gossiping away with Sally. I wish they'd use Kirk a bit more instead of every 5 months or so.

I agree, I love Kirk. I was trying to figure out tonight, was he Best Man at both weddings? I didn't see anyone else doing the job, but he seemed front and centre all the time.
However, I do wish they would give him a storyline of his own. It's well overdue.

I love Kirk!!! Andy Whyment has such impeccable timing! I've met him in person and he's so nice, too!

Agree.... without the "Kirks" of the street, it would just be another over-wrought dreary soap.... These characters make Corrie what it is.

Kirk is pure Corrie. Can only agree with other comments here, forget the bank heists, epilepsy, sham weddings, etc. Kirk is what Corrie is about!

I really like Kirk as well - he is brilliant - hope he never leaves! loved his line with Audrey about "are you coming on to me? cos I don't really do much older women". (that's me out the picture then...)

Very well put, Dolly Tubb. Kirk's contribution to the wedding epidsodes was a million times better than the tedious waiting-for-Kylie or you-will-suffer-for-immigration-fraud scenes.

Amen. Kirk is what Corrie's about to me. Come on producers, give him something to do - a silly comedy storyline please! It was better when he was linked to the Battersby's.

I hope he has a hand in getting rid of that awful John Stape. He's been reduce to stupid moronic one-liners..idiotic. Maybe he should buy the Rovers...that would make as much sense as Jim robbing a bank sans disguise in order for Liz to be "beck buhend the burr whar she belungs..so she des."

Loved the scenes with Kirk and Sally, good pairing for comedic relief! Agree, Kirk should have a storyline or be seen and heard more.
